As a rival fan that burns, haha, but just as a football fan its cool you guys got your guy. Reid had the right idea and proved all the analysis hogwash. I look back and that draft and just facepalm when I see Garrett "Holdor" Bolles having a higher draft grade than Mahomes.

Classic Lions they did enough to give the Lions fans hope, and in a Charlie Brown style way choked since the defense failed to defend when needed most, and offense twice failed to score a td with 2 Long passes.
Metaphorically that was 12 kicks to the groin, and the Tombstone Piledriver for the mental harrowing pain for the Lions fans.

In the Mighty Ducks 3 the Head Coach said it best a lead is useless if the defense can't defend the lead. I've seen that with games including the Titans failing to protect a lead in week 2 vs the Colts.
Heart attack in Detroit that the Chiefs won. Great win for your Chiefs that I did pick to win the Super Bowl vs the great flashy Hollywood Rams.

I showed that game on Facebook the final 2 drives and got 3 friends viewing the video, also the final drive for the Bills.

Also that soul crushing defeat for the Bills a dime a dozen happened, while the Bills did have the ball when needed, Barley would be trying to make a desperate throw and was easy for a Patriot defender to catch the Football because he was only man in the area.
Early Christmas for the Patriots in Buffalo, the Bills a week after dodging defeat vs the Bengals can't comeback vs the Great Patriots, and the game became mostly I said to a friend. If this is what most Bills fans feared if the game remained close, and Bills able to win in the 4th quarter except would fail in a harrowing way did happen.

Moral victories are useless in amateur sports and Pro Sports, that's all the Bills got today because close no cigar or anything similar is let's use a positive spin with a valiant effort that didn't achieve a win in a close combative game.
A competitive game that remained close In Buffalo, needed the Bills to score points to make the game close after a bad 1st quarter, and the Patriots outplayed the Bills including in the 4th.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory the classic Bills, and choking in a big game. I know the Patriots are a great team, and Barkley isn't the same league QB as Allen except still no excuse for the Bills to choke like that in late 4th.

Moral victories do matter in sports over the course of a season - they tell the team that kept it close that they belong in the same league as the big boys, especially if the perception before was that their defeat was a foregone conclusion. It doesn't help the standings in the least, but the long term effect on morale and fan perception can matter over the course of a season.

The analysts thought Mahomes skill set and his knack for throwing a bone headed Int at times is what cost them. But as pointed out a lot of the Ints was few and far between. Scouts saw Mahomes who idolized Brett Farve and acts like him in pocket at times and thought he was gonna be a Int machine. That Reid would not get him out of the whole aspect of trying to air bomb it constantly.

But as scouts saw Reid is good with QB's. He helped tame down Mahomes a lot. In his 2nd season Mahomes detailed he no longer tries to force HR shots , he's getting more methodical in the system and that makes it worse to defend. He has stopped forcing and trying to carry it all himself as he told. Which is scary if a Pat Mahomes thinks...ya know I gotta get even better. Which has to scare defenses worse if he is doing that after a NFL MVP season.

It could have been a radically different league has Reid gotten who he originally wanted a season earlier. Paxton Lynch was someone Reid had his eyes on due to his arm and wide open style as a QB. But as we know Elway saw that interest and like he did where he signed Sanders to a deal , leaped in front of KC.

In an interesting contrast, Patriots announcer Scott Zolak said during the radio broadcast that BArkley might be what the Bills need to win because he could throw the ball. It didn't happen in the end though.
    Stats:
    Josh Allen 13/28 153 0 3
    Matt Barkley 9/16 127 0 1

I kind of feel bad for the Bills. They seem to have a real strong defense but when you don't have a solid QB you lose games. If Josh Allen can turn into a decent QB and in a season or two before the defense gets old or leaves the Bills could be pretty darn good.

Moral victories don't matter at all in amateur sports or pro sports.
Could be regular season, playoffs, Championship series, or the Championship game.

As Herm Edwards said you play to win the game, not keep the game close and be happy with keeping the game close and competitive with a defeat.

Tell that to the 2007 Patriots. They won the regular season finale, barely, against a Giants team they were expected to steamroll. That standings loss yet moral victory propelled the Giants through the playoffs and to the Superbowl, where they won the rematch.

The Bears are putting on a defensive clinic, blanking Minnesota 16-0 in the fourth quarter.

In some nice NFL News for the Cardinals today , Larry Fitzgerald passed Tony Gonzalez for 2nd all-time in career receptions . Gonzalez had the old record of 1,325 career receptions. Today Fitzgerald now has 1,326 and is destined for the Hall of Fame.

So according to NFL Sunday , dirty player Vontaze Burfict has continued his knack for being an idiot on the field with the Raiders. He led with his helmet to take out the Colts TE during the game and was ejected. The NFL its said is tired of Burfict who blew kisses to the audience and was laughing over it as he left the game. Hopefully he gets suspended finally for good so that smile can be wiped off his face.

The Legend of Gardner Minshew grows with each week. Rocking his 80's porno stache he beat the Broncos on a final drive. No one can handle that power.

I can’t for the life of me understand why this thug is still in the league. Burfict is going to cripple someone with his antics.

The Titan, Jaguars, Browns, and Bucs all followed the example set by the Eagles by winning tough road games and avoiding a 1-3 start.
There is a four-way tie in the AFC South at 2-2. Any of them can still win it.
The Browns beating the Ravens means whoever wins the Monday night game will only be one game out.
Any team that is at least 2-2 is in good shape.
