The difference is tanking is intentionally losing, that's not what the Bengals are doing. Mike Brown thinks his is a competitive winning strategy and doesn't understand why the team is losing with it. He thinks what he is doing should be yielding Super Bowl championships and weekly sell outs, not the #1 overall pick and an empty stadium and tv blackouts.

The last real success the Bengals had was 1990. That was the last year they won a playoff game. Its also the last year Paul Brown ran the franchise as he passed away at 82. The team hasn't won a playoff game since and its gonna be 30 years next season.

The Seahawks have been playing effective because the defense got beneficial turnovers including recently another fumble. The Seahawks take advantage by scoring a td.
    21-10 early 3rd.

The 49ers undefeated streak most likely will be ending tonight and Garoppolo perfect at home as the 49ers QB would also end if the Seahawks can win tonight.
Not astounded the Seahawks are a great team, and the defense has been playing effective along with Seahawks offense taking advantage of 2 turnovers.

Well that overtime period certainly had some twists and turns. Niners lose their first.

That was a darn good game last night as Seattle came out on top and Russell Wilson showed that he's very much still in the running for league MVP.

The biggest sign there could be possible problems for the 49ers is the team was without George Kittle due to injury (no clue how long he'll be out) and lost Emmanuel Sanders due to a rib injury. The offense was impacted by this as the team managed 10 points offensively.

Opinion: Rams are paying the true price of their $134 million investment in QB Jared Goff

It’s open season on Jared Goff, and not just because the Los Angeles Rams gave their franchise quarterback a massive contract extension before the start of the season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers teed off on Goff on Sunday, when they dismantled Sean McVay’s creative offense the old-fashioned way: They dominated up front to constantly batter or otherwise harass the quarterback, then played physical on the back end to challenge, disrupt and often separate passes from intended targets.

It was the type of game that begged for a star quarterback to will his team to victory. We’ve seen it from Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson and lately, Lamar Jackson.

But Goff, despite the four-year, $134 million extension that includes a record $110 million in guaranteed money, is hardly that guy. When the script goes haywire, he too often follows suit.

As it stands now, the Rams’ heavy investment in Goff is backfiring – especially when considering there was no urgent need to lock up the quarterback who on his original contract wasn’t eligible to be a free agent until 2021, even if the Rams didn’t use a franchise tag on him. For the short term, the salary cap dollars might have been used in other areas. Fair or not, fans have had a field day bashing Goff for the big contract, as he carries mediocre numbers, including a TD-to-INT ratio of 11:9 and a passer rating of 82.7.
Did the Rams make a mistake in placing too much faith in Goff? It might be too soon for such a determination, still, it's not looking too terribly good for Goff, or the Rams who are 5-4 and choking on the exhaust from the 49ers and Seahawks in the highly competitive NFC West and could miss returning to the playoffs.

They were too quick to throw huge money at Goff too soon. His deal didn't expire til 2021 as this details. They should have seen how he did in 2020. A big reason the Rams are a clusterfuck is because the GM snaps to quick and has shit on the salary cap to an epic level. Its why Talib and Peters was traded away due to salary cap problems in 2020 and trading for a CB they now have to really invest big bucks in.

Lets put it this way....this is the Rams salary cap in 2020....$28+ million

They have to try and sign Ramsey to an extension where he will demand huge bucks and keep Donte Fowler , as their key free agent. The big question mark is the money they assigned to the following guys Goff , Gurley , Cooks , Donald etc.

I don't think it was faith necessarily to reward Goff who brought them to a Super Bowl, no easy feat. Faith is hiring a guy like Cousins who had zero playoff wins to his credit. The matter of how much was Goff and how much was the defense or McVay is a matter of discussion but at the end of the day someone has to execute that QB position one way or the other, and he did in 2018 and 2019. I don't fault the Rams for it.

People have hated Goff since way back when he started and thats not changing any time soon.

During this year we've seen lots of defensive failures on the Rams and an o-line that just isn't the same as it has been. But they also play in the same division as those 49ers and Seahawks we all watched last night. Its a tough division, easily the toughest in football. Yet here they are at 5-4 along with a bunch of other teams. Its past midway of the season and they are still contending in spite of all their problems.
