Whoever plays KC has to be happy , given the curse of KC wherever they make it to playoffs and lose , they must be chalking that W next to the column and thinking AFC Championship game ahead.

Doubtful. Brady isn't going to let an interception be the last play of his career, his ego and pride won't allow it, so he'll be back. And if Tom Terrific returns, so will Darth Hoodie, those two will ride off into the sunset together, not separately.

I think Belechek will stay longer than Brady. We know he was ready to have Garafalo replace Brady. And Brady looks like he might have a year left at best.. I can't see him playing until 45. Even then Belechek can keep coaching.

The thing is Brady coming back to The Pats is not a given. At least not to me. Belecheck is a team first guy. Not a player first guy. And what he will be thinking about is if he can win by signing a 42 year old qb to a multi year deal. Yea Brady held up good this season but how about when he is 44 or 45? As much as Darth Hoodie loves Brady he will always put the team over one man. So if he doesnt think a 43 year old qb will take the team to the next level he wont want him back.

Yep. He got screwed year after year in Miami with bad coaching. First the Joe Philbin years where he had mulitiple offensive coordinators. One of them ran a system that did not allow Ryan to audible or change plays at the line which left to countless plays where the playcall left defenders unblocked leading to instant sacks. Couple that with several years of absolute bust offensive lineman like Jonathan Martin who nearly got Tannehill killed in a game against the Ravens by being a human turnstyle.

Then the Adam Gase years where Gase never met a bubble screen he didn't want to call. Gase was terrified of throwing of deep even though Tannehill did good at it when he got the chance. Adam Gase is a horrible play caller who rode Peyton Manning's coattails to a head coaching job. I said on a Dolphin forum after Tannehill got traded that he had the chance now to become a Rich Gannon type QB where everything finally came together later in his career and so far with the Titans he showed it.

Not sure how the Pats feel about Jarret Stidham long term but I expect they'll resign Brady to a one year deal while grooming Stidham or some other rookie they draft next year.

Brady won't allow it, and he's managed to defy the progression of time for so long, but if this does end up being it, this is the anti climatic way for arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history to go out.

So... the NFC wild card games are today. That Seattle/Philly game is going to be pretty ugly.

If it was just Brady to decide on as a big free agent , then it would be so simple. The Patriots are entering 2020 with more than 20 free agents and a few are big names (Van Noy , Jamie Collins) and Brady is just another one. Also if it was simple like where the Redskins for 2 straight seasons franchised tagged Kirk Cousins , yeah it would work. But here is the big problem there.

Tom Brady in his last contract had it where he could not be franchised tagged by the organization. So there goes that simple 1 year solution that could have helped New England out quick. New England also only has $49 million in salary cap space to work deals with key free agents and Tom Brady.

So this season could see New England using the draft big time and see Belichick forced into a big rebuild ahead.

Joe Thomas kept saying something on Total Access to the effect of, the longer you play the less likely you are to get that fairy tale ending. Brett Favre refused to let a season ending interception and then ended up coming back to a terrible season, which broke his consecutive starting streak. That has to be in the back of Brady's mind.

Unlike Farve , Brady isn't as beat up as how Farve was. A big factor on Farve's consecutive start streak was how he played through injuries that would have taken a normal QB to not start. From bruised ribs and more , Farve would play on. By the time of that NFC Championship game , Farve's ankle was messed up due to Saints players targeting it (bounty gate) and he clearly was beat up by 2010.

Its really the "unknown" were in with a 42+ year old QB playing right now. I know Russell Wilson is watching this play out as Wilson claimed he plans to play as long as Brady does. Everything right now is just a ...wait and see. Does Tom get a fairytale ending or is it a playoff exit as this goes the next season or two ?

Either way New England is now in a rebuilding phase.

Does Darth Hoodie have the stomach for a rebuild? Does owner Robert Kraft? If Brady decides he’s not done and wants one last shot to get the sour taste of last night’s loss out of his mouth, Kraft and Belichick might say okay and postpone the inevitable. Hell, outlandish as this sounds, I wouldn’t put it past Brady to talk Rob Gronkowski into returning since, unless I’m mistaken, he’s yet to file his retirement papers with the league.

That Brees fumble that really ended them. It looked like they were going to score a TD to win before that.

I mean, John Elway came back after the 1996 divisional let down against the Jaguars, and won two straight rings. Maybe that is in Brady's mind instead.

Just watch Kraft pull another power play because the fanboy inside him wants Tom to retire a Patriot. Bill gonna be pissed.
