What X-Men can withstand the extremes of space? Phoenixes do not count.

That seems like Claremontian logic. Who had her flying around in outer space?

Any teleporter and Northstar. No one else needed. In and out before Mother Mold hits the sun.

Alternate option: Reed Richards and Tony Stark. Make them clean up their garbage.

    Northstar is highly underrated.

The last image has Phoenix, but Teen Jean was keeping up with her using her own powers

Colossus seems like a no brainer to me. Can survive in the vacuum of space and is usually the first in line when it comes to suicidal missions.

Theoretically, most elementals, telekinetics, and high end energy manipulators .. also some of the people who are invulnerable.. I mean Rogue was punched to space by Binary...

List: Magneto, Polaris, Iceman(would make sense), Storm, Hellion, Vulcan, Exodus, CeCe Reyes should be able to for a bit. Chamber, Husk (depending on form), Sunspot(perhaps), Cannonball (at least for a little while).

As those panels indicate, Jean cannot operate out there minus Phoenix indefinitely. Which she would've had to do last issue. But she was injured, traumatized and being attacked by a horde of Sentinels. Thus, bye bye Jean.

She wouldn't have had to last indefinitely. After using her telekinetic powers to repair her injuries, she could have defeated these early drone Sentinels, flown back to the space station, torn her way in with TK, used her telepathy to knock out all humans then defeated Omega Sentinel by using molecular-level TK (the nanites wouldn't be able to penetrate her TK shields), loaded the humans all onto a ship (because she wouldn't kill them), piloted it with knowledge gained from her telepathic scan of the crew, finally flying back to Earth after setting the whole station to lose orbit and plunge into the sun. On the way back, she could have erased the memories of the crew so they would forget how to make another Mother Mold.

    Easy.
