Yeah, that makes sense. I'm not a huge fan of the Superman-As-Jesus thing, but I absolutely understand the deep desire to have Superman actually change the world rather than just defend a flawed status quo. I think you can see that frustration when you look at Batman v Superman as well, which doesn't have Superman undertake efforts to change the world so much, but absolutely emphasizes the world's real-life flawed status quo, sometimes to the exclusion of other elements. Like, you know, fun action scenes. So anyway, I can definitely see a sort of ideological through-line for Cavill there as well.
