Default Who Are Marvel's Best Friends?

Any era, any pair (or trio).

    A few limitations:
    • No Mentor/Sidekicks (i.e. Captain America/Bucky who are narratively bound together)
    • No "Only Cause They're Only Published On The Same Team Book" (like , Beast/Wonder Man because: see above)
    • No Consistently Committed Couples (ala Havok and Polaris)

    So who?

That I can think of that fit the criteria:

    - Peter Parker and Johnny Storm.

    - Professor Xavier and Magneto.

    - Carol Danvers and Jessica Drew.

    - Patsy Walker and Jennifer Walters.

Tough one. But they're so bound to New Mutants, I'd say they're disqualified by the rules I set.

Spider-Man and The Human Torch really capture the spirit of what I was asking.

    Spider-Man and Human Torch
    Luke Cage and Iron Fist
The Avengers are Firefighters. We're the ones who fly into the blaze, whatever it is. Because we're the ones who
can, so we're the ones who have to.~Captain Marvel

They joined the Avengers together if that helps.

More examples that I hope fit if the one I gave doesn't.

    Misty Knight and Colleen Wing
    Taskmaster and Black Ant
    Iron Man and War Machine
    Captain America and Hawkeye
    Kate Bishop and America Chavez
    Spider-Man and Daredevil

It's an underappreciated and underused one:

    Reed Richards and T'Challa
Be sure to check out the Invisible Woman appreciation thread!

Still only in the same team book.

Oh. I LIKE that! Black Panther is seen as so remotte and regal, people write him off. T'Challa and Captain America was one I had in my head when proposing this. But that's a deep and interesting pull.

I honestly feel like your restrictions are a little too strict.

    Yeah. I'm a jerk.

I loved your Taskmaster/Black Ant and Spider-Man/Daredevil ideas tho.

Anyways, Misty/Colleen weren't introduced in the same issue and they've been separate.

I don't even know how you'd disqualify Tony/Rhodey, because they've never been bound to the same team, Rhodey can only very loosely be considered a sidekick (he's really more of an equal partner), and Rhodey has both been Iron Man (fun fact: Rhodey was the Iron Man seen in Secret Wars) and his War Machine ongoing actually outsold Iron Man's back in the '90s.
