One Piece just delivered another great villain quote, from Chapter 1013 of the manga. Our antagonist has just apparently ended his fight against the hero in a cliffhanger, and makes the following speech, with occasional pauses for breath.
"The outcome was obvious... huff! You gained a powerful weapon ... and let it go to your head, boy!! Human beings don't give up hope. No ... they can't give up hope ... that's the problem!! It's been a long time since I got worked up like this ... I've failed... huff! I should have simply cut your head off and announced my victory to everyone.
