I kinda think that they're hoping that if the Phalanx approves of the AI version of them, they'll let the fleshy versions join their club. Otherwise you'd think they'd have prepped AI transfer for all of them.

Is it possible that present day Xavier is actually Sinister? We have not seen him without his helmet off and in this issue he was wearing a hat. Could he be hiding a sinister gem on his forehead?

Didn’t JDW already establish that these aren’t actual years but like eras (forgot the exact wording). Y0/Year One isn’t a year or two, but whatever amount of time needed until House of X as a new era.

I didn't interpret it that way, they had to test someone having turned himself into machine to see if Phalanx can accept it. So they can do the same, that floating ball was the vessel of that elder man

Yeah the Year 1 designation seems to really just be an abbreviation for "The Beginning"

I’m starting to agree. The scene with Moira meeting Xavier is obviously pre-X-Men. Moira and Xavier recruiting Magneto is around UXM 150. This issue seems to be a little harder to pinpoint. It has to be after X-Factor #70 since he has the hoverchair. Yet Xavier and Magneto are too chummy for it to be anywhere near X-Men #1 (1991). Magneto was presumed dead until Xavier mind wiped him in X-Men #25. So... not sure where this scene with Sinister is placed. My closest guess is between X-Factor #70 and X-Men #1, even though, again, they shouldn’t be in a good place with each other at that point.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the fact that we FINALLY get to see Xavier without his helmet in X1.

So... is it an Xavier body or Fantomex? It’s not like it’d be the first time Xavier had a cloned body.

I think we are suppose to operate under the expectation that a decade of history is gone. We just don't know what decade and i don't think it's linear. It's proably a decade worth of overall story he wanted to throw out.

You're forgetting the hilarious possibility that Live Moira herself, monitoring the situation, went 'oh ****' and promptly blended in with the other actually dead folks, acting casual and pretending to be one of them.

I thought that the floating ball was meant for the Phalanx to understand if they were "worthy" to be assimilated. Now they are onto how to actually ascend.

I don't really see that. I think time is just malleable in the Marvel Universe. It's been explained in-universe, even. Twice.

Last week, Hickman killed the X-Men. This week, there’s absolutely no continuation from that plot point, but he has Sinister say “I. Love. That. Cape.” and suddenly we’re eating out of his hand again.
