I wonder, with end credit scenes, what counts as the actual final shot of the movie?

If we count endcredits the Thanos reveal from Avengers was pretty good. I had no idea it was coming or nick fury in Ironman.

I was thinking about ONCE UPON A TIME . . . IN HOLLYWOOD, but then I realized it's hard to pick what is the actual end of the movie. Is it Adam West and Burt Ward?

The end of SCHOOL OF ROCK is pretty awesome, but that's an extended end credit sequence.

As a comic fan, a X-Men fan, and a Jott fan the flamebird under the lake at the end of X2 was amazing.

Then came 16 years of dissapointment with that storyline.

    The Empire Strikes Back
    The Godfather
    Superman: The Movie
    Batman (1989)

The Last American Virgin - an otherwise forgettable 80's movie about kids wanting to get laid. Then that last scene that is a complete WTF moment, how can they end this movie like this.

The Mist - completely different type of movie than above but nonetheless a WTF moment at the end. Utterly brilliant though in my mind.

King's too it's one of the few times he thought the change was better than his writing.

Of course, the ending of CITIZEN KANE is pretty famous and that in turn reminds me of the end for RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.

In honor of next week's 25th anniversary of my all time favorite movie, Pulp Fiction, Jules and Vincent casually walking out of that diner after "rehabilitating" Ringo and Honey Bunny.

That was actually one of the first things that I thought of.

As for one that I haven't seen mentioned, Evil Dead II
