He seems to interlope between different strength classes; sometimes he takes on Black Adam, other times Batman can land a blow to him.

The Nth Metal that sows for him to negate gravity is also capable of inducing faux-superhuman strength. This was explored in Geoff Johns' Hawkman run.

Hard to say. I see him as DC's Wolverine in the sense that he isn't the strongest, fast, or smartest guy in the room but his "powerset" allows him to go toe to toe with just about anyone .

Yeah he's pretty much Wolverine with some varying armor on the outside, who can fly, he even had the claw^ first. : p
