    Default Lost and forgotten Powers

I just figured I'd make a topic for all those strange powerups and new abilities characters seem to possess for a little while then are never mentioned again.

Like remember Toad's ability to control frogs, or his strange breath powers, or how he could make a strange glue like ooze come from his hands?

Oh, and Magneto use to be able to astrally project himself, and he could control people though mesmerizing because he had a magnetic personality!... he also apparently opened a black hole once and used it to teleport.

On on the topic of teleportation, whatever happened to Psylocke's ability to teleport through the shadows?

Or the fact that Nightcrawler literally became invisible in the shadows.

I also seem to recall gambit has a hypnotic charm ability that made people automatically trust him, but I can't recall the last time they really used that for anything.

Juggernaut is another one that people have introduced a lot of other abilities to but he keeps going back to just being a strong guy that punches things. Most of the time people don't even remember the force-field, let alone that he can use the force-field to rapid fire projectiles and that he's shown the ability to fly before. There was also one time he fired an energy beam that shrunk Nightmare, but I'm not sure what that was about.

And I'm pretty sure at one point, Jubilee was described as being naturally resistant to telepaths.

So, any other weird powerups and lost abilities you can think of?

Psylocke used to be slightly precognitive. Rogue used to use Ms. Marvel's 7th Sense infrequently.

If it can be powers from an outside source, X-23 wielded the Unipower twice and is supposed to be the heir to its full power.

Given how the Rachel and the Phoenix has been summarily ignored, however....

Speaking of Rachael, when was the last time she used the ability to project people's minds through time? It seems like that would have saved everyone a lot of trouble over the years.

That was a Crimson Dawn power; it went away when she died.

Brian Wood asked about this early into his X-Men run (I presume because of BotA), and he was told by editorial that Rachel no longer has any time/chronal powers anymore. lamesauce.

Cyclops used to be able to absorb various sorts of energy, like Storm's lightning, to fuel his optic blasts, and he and Alex have been depicted as gaining muscle mass when struck with each others energy blasts, appearing super-strong (although that could have just been terrible art...).

Many Marvel telepaths can occasionally create illusions, mind control people and / or astrally project, although that sometimes comes and goes (and entire other mutants have one of those powers are their entire schtick, like Mastermind, Karma and Trance).

I'll use my headcanon excuse: It didn't stop 811 from happening, it just saved 616 form the same fate, so she'd rather not do anything knowing it will be a wasted effort.

Siryn can choose what direction her sceam travels, allowing her to attack radially, hitting multiple foes at once. This control allows Siryn to lift things.

Freeze objects mid-air, although this feat is a bit more straining.

Where shall I start with Rogue?
-Had the powers of Ms.Marvel, lost that.
-Had Wolverine's bone claws and healing factor, lost that.
-Had power recall of everyone she ever absorbed, lost that.
-Had the power of Sunfire, lost that.
-Had the "Death touch", lost that. (IMO a good thing.)

I'm sure I could think of more Rogue stuff, given time... :-)

We could be here all day just on Rogue's "lost" powers.
