We can only speculate at this point until Hickman dives deeper into the concept.

Magik has taken on a leadership/mentor role since Bendis' Uncanny & All New X-Men. Most recently, she was the field leader in New Mutants Dead Souls.

She also has the entirety of Limbo at her back and call. Basically, she has her own demonic army.

Yes yes yes. Its giving me an 80's aesthetic vibe and I dig it. It harkens back to the painterly quality of Sienkiewicz, but perhaps with a bit more pop-flare from all the textural elements added.

Is Roberto being left behind in this teaser? Is this the "well, I guess I'm the new Majestrix. Here goes!" moment?

I proposed a variant of that question to the #AskHickman thread on twitter, inquiring if he would reveal, either by interview or in upcoming in-story-content, the decision/rationale behind the Captain selection process. Who chose? And will these Captains be interacting regularly? Do they have a shared text thread? lol
