Haha I actually presented both of these very important issues to Duggan (*A FEW WEEKS AGO) and his response made me somewhat (cautiously) optimistic, but I could definitely see how he could have had the Hellfire role in mind and not the other stuff I mentioned (though I’m sure some fashion will be involved, at least occasionally!)

I just looked it up. Oof, that doesn’t give me a lot of hope for how queer “mutant culture” will be allowed to be, though I do feel like editorial won’t stand in the way of anything Hickman wants. The question is just whether or not that’s a priority for Hickman. That they’ve brought so many queer women and nonbinary writers into the stable is an encouraging sign (Howard on Excalibur, Williams and Ayala in wave 2) but it’s hard to imagine Duggan being the one for this book if that was going to be a huge element of it. We’ll see!

A generally bad time working with the editors, worth reading in his own words!

Nothing that directly indicates anything about upcoming stories except A) a reluctance to confidently stand behind queer content, which I pray will have improved for these new books, and B) Sina Grace probably won’t be writing any of them.
