Marauders by Gerry Duggan and Matteo Lolli Apperciation 2019

- Duggan had been wanting to do an X-Men book for a long time but the timing never worked out (Ketchum such a great editor that he bet the house on Guggs in 2017)
- Duggan’s had a lot of friends who changed their name at one point or another and he thought it was time Kitty became Kate. Says it’s a legacy name but don’t read too much into the DoFP relation because that’s old stuff and they’re done with that
- There was too much craziness going on during HoxPox for someone to pick Kate up with the Blackbird
- JDW came up with Kate’s disadvantaged position
- Iceman is one of the most important characters in the book
- The Hellfire stuff is going to be high stakes soap opera
- Next issue will be Hellfire-centric and after that the spotlight moves around. Duggan notes that all his team books give every character their due

I dont like this prospect either but better then Bobby Iguess. I like the assymetry of having just two queen and one king. But if they gotta fill up the ranks I wish it was with someone more out there.

I think there won't be a White King and Red King.

White Queen = Red Queen = Black King
That's probably the change that there can be only either a king or queen in each position so the Queens and Kings are equal to each other at all times.

But, there are other positions.
White Bishop = Red Bishop = Black Bishop
White Knight = Red Knight = Black Knight
White Rook = Red Rook = Black Rook

So technically if Sebastian brings in a Black Bishop, then Emma and Kate are within their rights as equal members to bring in a White Bishop and Red Bishop as a counter move.

Haha, this means every member of Marauders could end up on the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club, which would be hilarious, and certainly piss Sebastian off.

I am going to guess now, Black Bishop is Selene, straight out from the Sinister Secrets, Sebastian is going to bring Selene in the mix.

After Hickman's intial pitch, Duggan discussed how great it was with Nick Spencer.

I can't see Spencer's name near anything X-Men related and my brain goes overdrive. Will it kill anybody to bring him to DoX?

With the ties to the Hellfire Club I hope we see Shinobi Shaw and Daken pop up in Marauders as well.

Can you imagine Shinobi, Daken, Christian, and Iceman all in the same book!?
