Bolsonaro would almost certainly be extremely disfavorable to a mutant nation, most mutant rights, and really any mutant that wasn't a supporter of him (and "leaning towards the conservative side" is the understatement of the year); mind you, Dilma Rouseff and Lula, who are in the opposite end of the political compass, would too (like Venezuela also is) oppose a mutant nation unless Lula thought he could enrich himself with money from the drugs or another shady dealing.

Again, they are not the only country to hold such a stance. But that's not the stance of someone trying to coexist is my point. No need to make it pass for that. They have other priorities like establishing themselves as something other than a fledging territory, so it's relatively understandable.
As we have seen in #1, humans can enter Krakoa if they are authorized and are coming with a mutant. It's just the representatives of the foreign governments were forbidden to go there.

Word. This is one of the many reasons why I'm very interested in Excalibur. Betsy is Captain Britain but a citizen of Krakoa. Very interesting and lots of potential for stories here. And I believe this will be the case for all the books in some way, how the mutants relate to the rest of the world.

    Lol at Mutant apologist.
Okay like there wasnt a floating soda can out in space ready to decimate every mutant ever.

Spare me the 'moral' high ground view.
Mutants are doing what they have to.

Add to that the fact that the representatives were exposed as "plants" by the Cuckoos and had ulterior motives for their visit with Magneto. In that moment, it proved Magneto right when he says they can't be trusted.

I’m honestly shocked that Krakoa even managed to get an American trade agreement with President Deals.

That was probably the easiest one. Trump living longer? A few mutants saying good things about him on twitter. Please, he is proably like "When i told Xavier that perhaps mutants should create their own island so mutants can manifest their powers away from us, he was so captivated by the idea that... blah blah blah."

Trump is also beholden to the pharmaceutical industrial complex though. Not to mention he probably considers Krakoa a shithole country. But you’re right that some flattery would lead to some compliment for the very tremendous and very strong Charles Xavier.

One would also think he is beholden to the farmers that voted for him that he is now screwing over in his war with "Gina". All mutants probably have to stay at Trump Towers when they visit anywhere in the world.

As it stands humans have killed more humans and mutants on Earth than any mutant probably ever will. Focusing on their own problems seems like a good reason to play nice with the Mutants would could as of now irreparably damage their way of life. Add to that, that a United front of powerful mutants is the best defense that they'll ever have against any alien Invaders, demons, whatever. Not to mention the life saving drugs Charles is offering.

There's a lot more to gain by leaving mutants alone than being the usual terrorist humans.
Most of the worst atrocities mutants in general and the X-men in particular have faced have been committed by fellow mutants. From the massacre of the Morlocks, the legacy virus, the necrosia event, Onslaught and others all had a mutant hand involved, no humans present. Even decimation happened when Wanda was still Identified as a mutant and the destruction of Genosha was committed by some alien parasite. Powerful mutants can be as cruel, sadistic and inhumane to their fellow mutants as any human can be. It wasn't humans throwing mutants into re-education camps in New Tian, it wasn't humans experimenting on mutants with mothervine. So no I don't think humans have killed more mutants than any other mutant. Besides the Age of Apocalypse timeline have shown us that mutants can be every bit as brutal and evil as any human dominated timeline.

Idk the way Hickman outlined Mutants are kind of boxed into a corner. Mutants could literally be doing nothing and humans would be like "Look at them standing there, menacingly. KILL THEM ALL!"

I'm really curious to see how he solves the conundrum.

That can't be put on hickman though. That has been the history of the marvel universe for mutants for decades. That's how Marvel outlined the mutants.

I know i will never forget peanut allergy and people thinking it was a good look for the inhumans to be running a casino and enjoying life while mutants were suffering. Hell they even had mutants in the books saving inhuman lives instead of trying to figure out how to save their own. lol.

This is the "But what about black-on-black crime?" argument.

Gold King: When mutants come into our country, *sniff* they're not bringing their best, but that Jean Grey... reminds me a little of uhhh... E-von-kuh.

Chuck: Oh, really, Mister President? Well in all honesty, your Ivanka reminds me a bit of my very own Jean Grey.

Midas Fruit: This Xavier guy, he's my friend. We're friends now. Gimme a hug, friend. I love mutants more than I love Eric.

Word!! Why should Mutants have to be hwld to this self-righteous high horse of morality. They are flawed not perfect and are are responding (carefully planned) not reacting (immediate emotional non rational) to terrible circumstances that they are constantly being put in. Doing what they gotta do!
