I can understand if people don't like the premise of the story, that humans will exterminate the mutants at every turn, but that's the story we have.
It's almost like the people who aren't happy with how the Mutants are acting haven't been paying attention to the history of not just the X-Men, but mutants in general throughout the years.

It was only a matter of time before a writer took the next logical step

Then we won't see Mutants teleporting into any country that doesn't want them there there, huh?
It's not like the mutants are declaring war against humans. Moira has tried that. They're offering them medicine in exchange for recognition. But here we have Magneto giving them a tour and it turns out most of them are not who they say they are. It kinda makes his point. Fanatical fringe groups don't always look like fanatical fringe groups on the surface.

To answer your other question, let me consult my magic 8 ball. :-) We'll have to see how it unfolds. Most of the nations have officially recognized them so it'd be interesting to see how much the mutants will be allowed to come and go.

Yup. It's a bummer but it's like some readers don't care about the part where no matter what Moira has tried to do, she hasn't been able to prevent the extinction of her species.

For the record... Are you going to tell me that declaration won't be recognized as a direct threat?

Well when you put it like that, I mean this might not be the best approach for getting recognized by the UN, though of course, that was a moot point with what Frost did.

That wouldn't be surprising and in line with humans, I mean you tell certain group of people there is one word they can't use because hey it has a bad history behind it and they are like nobody should use the word. Nope just you guys can't say that word they are like that is unfair. So that thinking is very inline with the brand I mean it is upsetting for humans that they can go to ONE place that is a safe haven for a group of people after they just tried to sterilize the race and wipe out 16 million. Imagined being so "privileged" that you feel the right to go placed created as a safe haven away from you killing them. And thinking it is equal treatment to ban them from everywhere else not realizing like that was the reason the island was created in the first place.

Imagine complete ignoring the WHY to go hey everything must be equal right away. When Humans learn to live in peace with mutants maybe they can go on Krakoa freely but nothing says hey let's live in peace like trying bully a people you have tried to wipe out so much that they think it is necessary to have a safe haven away from you. And it is beautiful irony that once mutants stop going turn the other cheek and start using more standard human practices for survial they become "villains".

It could also be read as Magneto being a tad hyperbolic. And besides, it's not as though the humans aren't aware of the hundred or so other actual 'Gods' that exist in/on their world...this is the MU after all.

Playing devil's advocate here: Yes, it is the logical step but it's not exactly easy for those readers to just accept the changes being presented here you know? I mean using myself as an example, I too know their history and like many I hated their mistreatment as well all because the Mouse couldn't make money of them in the movies however all that aside I think I should be allowed to feel a bit creeped out and worried given what happens in this latest issue and hope not to be labeled something i know deep down i am not or be judged for not sharing the majority opinion.

And please don't tell me it hasn't happened in this thread, there have been too many examples of people who are losing their marbles as they try to justify their positions and feelings on the matter and not all of them are in a positive and well thought out manner

Frost only messed with one vote.

Of course it was a threat – part of the foundation of a nation-state is based upon convincing others you have the power to defend your established territory against aggression and encroachment.

I know a lot of people are talking about villians who will or will not make heroes thrilled. Apocalypse is not going to make Rachel or Nate happy.

Perhaps the only shades of gray that complainants of Krakoa can handle here regarding the visual storytelling medium would be Bob Ross's "color-blind" painting.

However you feel is totally fine. I'm just saying that after years of being tortured by the humans of the MU mutants have finally taken true a stance of solidarity and it confuses me as to why some people see them as villains, a cult, or my favorite "the thing they always fought against" when all they've done is play the humans political game and destroy a murderbot.

Nate? As in Nate Grey? The bearded weirdo who chose to run away from reality with his life seed?

I doubt he cares too much about anything other than his Disneyland mutants and god complex atm.

Rachel on the other hand hmm I would see her having more of a problem with Selene tbh.

You very much need to be missing a lot of the stuff happening in these comics to not get why people are saying these things and say the Xmen destroying a robot is the one thing they've done here.

I totally get it my brother - the prejudiced world that hates and fears the X-Men is now no longer limited to the fictional human beings in the comic books. Hopefully through Hickman's writing some of the people here will learn tolerance and acceptance!!

Yeah, deliberately posting signs in the native language is clearly offensive. Can you *believe* that Hong Kong often posts signs that *aren't English*!? The mind reels. How exclusionary. =)
