This was always bound to be a mess. To be fair, the artist is drawing Kwannon as Betsy often was in that body which was racially ambigious. Even after the recent switch, Betsy's look hasnt been consistent as well as we've had artists who have drawn her looking like her old body

I just don't understand why it's hard to send out a reminder to all artists and colorist who are working on these books, whether they be interiors or covers:

Kwannon/Psylocke - Woman with Asian appearance and dark purple hair in the 90s bikini costume

Betsy/Captain Britain - Woman with Caucasian appearance and light purple/lavender colored hair

Pretty sure you can tell it's Kwannon from the darker hair. Unless you want them to bring back the yellow filter they used for asian characters last century.

My problem isn't with Larraz's Kwannon, but some of the OTHER covers....she doesn't look the least bit Japanese. The Ashley Witter one with Husk and Bling! in particular.

Which I totally get BUT this is their opportunity to start fixing the inconsistenices. But I guess not.

Well, they’re keeping the psylocke name and costume...my guess is that marvel wants ‘normal’ readers to mix up the two. Like three or four issue in they might figure out ‘Oh, this is a different psylocke? Well, it’s a pretty good book.’

Cover is beautiful. But I agree that Kwannon doesn't have an Asian appearance in most of this covers, she looks pretty much Caucasian except in some of them.

I'm also still a bit bitter that they did not differentiate their powers at all. She could have had some different psionic ability and kept the psi-weapons to keep her iconic look.
