Unless Krakoa has ball culture, I can’t see Darkveil giving up that scene. But I would love to see a writer delve into that intersection since barely anyone gets into what it means to be black and a mutant, black&gay and a mutant, etc etc.

Isn't Darkveil an entertainer, it's not like they won't want people to perform music, theatre, performance shows, etc...

I think there is a place for her on Krakoa, she brings a cultural perspective, and in a way she gets to be one of the architects of the new Krakoan culture.

I want Shade (sorry Darkveil just hasn't stuck as a name) to have a feud with Krystal M'kraan

OMG, what a perfect name Krystal M'kraan and she is even dressed in a faux Phoenix outfit, that is too perfect! I hope Shade and Krystal both show up as entertainers in Krakoa. I agree they should have a rivalry too!

I was thinking while reading the whole HoX human/mutant racism discussion if there's racism within the mutant community. Like are black or gay mutants treated the same as white straight mutants. There could also be more layers to it, like telepaths discriminating non-telepathic mutants and such.

We need an everyday Krakoan life book.

She’s an entertainer, but the drag scene holds much more sentiment than just providing fun and fashion for the casual viewer. But it would be cool for Darnell to be the first one to bring that culture to Krakoa. Also, can we Darkveil just be trans? Drag queens are great rep for the community, but there are really 0 trans mutants. Prominent ones, at least, if there’s some uber-obscure one that I’m missing.

Now more than ever, we need an anthology book of everyday Krakoan life through the lens of fan fav mutants (or even a little story of the new mutants that Hickman introduces in HOX1). But race is almost never something that is capitalized on which leads to tonedeaf scenes like this where this interaction happens right in front of Dani.....a Cheyenne woman....

So instead of peace amongst mutants in an environment strictly for mutants you want them to adopt the same bigoted behavior that they sought to escape? Makes sense I guess...

Questioning if there’s racism is not the same as romanticizing it. It’s an intersection that needs to be explored.

There was mutant supremacy in the last Iceman solo, they were targeting all the mutants that didn't look human.

Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
    DC: Currently figuring that out
    Marvel: Read above
    Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8

Odd people like "Shade" more than "Darkveil". "Shade" is way too common.

As for OP's question, it depends on the writer.

Maybe in Marauders. Duggan seems to be using most of the cast from the last Iceman book.

Personally, I thought she was an unremarkable character but...with Jumbo Carnation coming back I can see a writer doing something remarkable and interesting with her as part of the new Mutant multiculturism.

While I don't care at ALL for Sina Grace, I agree a trans Darkveil would have been better, a trans character with less tropes and stereotypes.
I'd love to see a character like me in the x-books, not at all under Sina Grace though but I'm sure some writer, maybe even Hickman can breathe life into Darkveil.

A new outfit with less pockets too please
