Black History Month - List your favourite Black villains!

We already have a thread asking for people's favourite black Marvel heroes, so I thought we could do the same for the bad guys! Who are your favourite black super-villains? Which ones do you think deserve more exposure or further development? I expect there may be some overlap between the heroes and villains lists, given some characters flip-flop between both sides...so are there any other black villains you'd like to see work towards redemption?

I noticed with the heroes thread that some people were having trouble remembering all the black heroes when put on the spot, so here's a bunch of options to get everyone started. This is by no means a complete list of all of Marvel's black villains -- its just a sample.

Marvel2100 said it best! Moses Magnum could be the Doom of black villains, but weak unimaginative fanboy writers we have now prefer to recycle the same few bad guys, and that's only when they don't have heroes fighting each other.

Moses Magnum will never work at Marvel now. He is a black villain doing bad things and his evil deeds can't be spun as "for the greater good" like Killmonger. He is a villain that enjoys being a villain and I think that makes a lot of people uncomfortable.

Moses Magnum will never work at Marvel now. He is a black villain doing bad things and his evil deeds can't be spun as "for the greater good" like Killmonger. He is a villain that enjoys being a villain and I think that makes a lot of people uncomfortable.

If this were true it would be such a missed opportunity for adding nuance to black characters in general. There's nothing wrong a bad guy being.....bad! Even if he's a black villain. Why are they not allowed to grand scaled villains.

DC sure is doing it with Black Manta.

That's a solid list, especially given half of them made their debut or most notable appearances in a Spider-Man book. That said, my personal favorite is Cardiac for being more of an anti-villain who fights against perfectly legal but unjust and immoral corporate practices and policies that end up ruining or ending other people's lives but goes about it in an "extreme" way. (When I say "extreme," I mean it as the word is commonly defined, not in terms of 90s marketing.) Given how much more aware we are as a society these days of how utterly scummy behavior can be enabled by the law as manipulated and subverted by bad corporate actors . . . Cardiac was kind of ahead of his time.

For the ladies, Deadly Nightshade/ Tilda Johnson, Nekra, Frenzy and Tempo.

For the gents, Tombstone, Overdrive, Midnight's Fire and the MCU version of Killmonger.

Joanna Cargill / Frenzy is probably my absolute favorite, tho.
