As I recall the sun dipped Superman in OWAW wasn't able to do much apart from push a planet or something. As Thanos survives planet busting attacks evidently he will just make him his bitch.

Isn't pretty well-established on these boards that you need nothing less than Pre-COIE Earth-1 Superman to have a good shot at beating Thanos without PIS?

And even then Kal may still well lose if he can't blitz Thanos unconscious fast enough before Thanos gets a TP thought off.

Give Pre-COIE Supes a tp-resistant helmet like Magneto's ... only then it's a wrap in clear favor of Supes.

But once you start bringing special gear into play, the Mad Titan could get the IG or HOTU.

Of course, ultimately Supes has the Thought Robot, so ....

I swear, I had a point going into this!

Last time I even /hinted/ at PC Supes maybe having a shot against Thanos, I was violently transmorgrified into a restaurant. Sooo... I'm not touching this with a 10 foot pole haha.

I will point out that Post Crisis and onwards, Clark has better resistances to his various weaknesses then his PC self did.

That is a fair point. Not sure if it is enough though.

Perhaps he can win by BFR; fry his teleporter and then throw him into space at super speed. It's the only chance that I can see for him to win ; catch him unaware and BFR him.

Kind of like Annihilhus did? Hmm. Problem is, sometimes his teleportation is tech, sometimes it isn't. Recently it's been portrayed as tech.

I don't recall him teleporting without machinery but then again I don't recall him stating that he cannot teleport without mechanical aid either in his previous portrayals before the one shown in the Annihilus storyline.

He teleports with his own natural ability and he does it with tech.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

Rebirth Suoerman is apparently a universe buster...so he should win...

New 52 doesn't have any true sundip showings I can recall.

Does he? Sounds stupid and whimsical but then most things involving him are.

But which is the explanation in recent years? Could be a sort of soft reboot deal. Maybe.
