Actually, there was a fair amount of kicking, but Spider-Man was almost never allowed to throw a punch. Come to think of it, no one was allowed to throw a punch unless it was shown being immediately blocked or parried.

Yeah, that really annoyed me. A:EMH was a great cartoon, TSSM is the only Marvel animated series I'd rate ahead of it.

I'm amused that you counted Batman Beyond as a Spider-Man cartoon series, though it does make a lot of sense after some careful thought on the similarities between Batman Beyond's protagonist and Spider-Man himself.
