Question about eddie brock/anti venom

Currently im reading the 2011 venom series. I just got to a story where eddie brock was hunting down symbiotes and killing them/their host but he is doing it with a gun and not using antivenom to cure the symbiose. Later in the story he was given toxin.

What my question is about is what happened to anti venom? I never remembered reading a story where anti venom was no longer a part of him. This story also was written in 2012 while anti venom made his debut in 2009.

Spider-Island is the piece you're missing. In the story Eddie used Anti-Venom to help heal all the spider-infected people, and then at the end the symbiote was completely used up as a cure for everyone. So that's how he got separated from it.
