Why would Mutantkind need or even have one true leader?
That's impossible.
And if it's possible, that's wrong or a big pending conflict.
Scott is the leader of the X-Men.
The leader.
Not the monarch or overlord or God or any of that.
If mutant kind has that sort of thing it is Krakoa, isn't it? The land, the place, the gate, the language....
Moira is a revolutionary and agent of possibility and an outlaw.
Scott leads. It's who he is.
And it's how he sometimes gets used or abused. It's Scott, isn't it?
Did you see him in UXM #1?
That was him leading.
In HOXPOX, Scott, leading the X-Men.

Before the Moira retcon Scott was the one true leader of mutantkind. The utopia era
Moira is the power behind Xavier's throne, not the leader. Scott leads the X-men.
Moira X is the awesome outsider of Mutant Kind.

So here's a theory that sounds fun.
The thing is, where does Moira fit?
This theory is wrong because it's a perfect example of what Hickman was talking about- people assuming it's all a dream or a trap or the X-men are mind-controlled, because they are too used to have people blowing **** up rather than building.
I think he just wanted to set the precedence that his words cant be completely trusted and he's intentionally evasive and misleading so when he drops his twists, they do come across as shockers and not something people should expect. There's been alot of theories thrown out, and people may already be right but he's not going to want us to know that
