Figured I might as well finish out this series while all parts are still streaming. This sequel reminded me a bit of "Aliens", with them heading back to the same location as the previous movie but with armed, informed (and overconfident) hunters instead of a group that doesn't know what's going on. The cast was better this time around, led by Tony Todd and Danielle Harris (who I'm happy to see landed a new franchise after getting shafted by the Halloween series). The kills were fun, and I liked the more explicitly supernatural backstory given to Crowley.

    14b. Waxwork (1988)

This one didn't really do it for me. It was almost surprising to realize Billy from Gremlins did other movies besides that one. David Warner shows up unexpectedly for me for the 3rd time this October, but as much as I like him, he isn't given much to do. The idea of gathering all the evilest public-domain characters (and homages of the copyrighted ones) into one place seems like it could have had a lot of potential, but they never really did anything cool with it.

French dancers gather in a remote, empty school building to rehearse on a wintry night. The all-night celebration morphs into a hallucinatory nightmare when they learn their sangria is laced with LSD.

It should have been called "Jason Takes a Boat and Spends About 15 minutes in Manhattan."

How does a boat even get from Crystal Lake to New York, anyway?

British soldiers versus werewolves. I've been meaning to see this one for about...oh, 17 years, I suppose. And just never got around to it for one reason or another. But I liked it! Good creature effects, good gore, good characters...another one to add to the "good werewolf movie" canon.

Review: While there were some good things to gleam from this film, the extremely predictable twists and even more predictable end stinger just left me disappointed.

The famous horror classic. I saw the extended cut when that came out in theaters in 2000. I guess the changes added a little bit, but the differences aren't huge. Only recently did I realize that Max Von Sydow was only in his 40s when he made this. He aged into almost exactly his old-man look here.

This a very off-kilter feeling movie. Deliberately so I think. Way better than The Exorcist II: The Heretic. George C. Scott is excellent. The story is not at all like what I expected it to be, though it does justify calling itself a sequel.
