What's with Emma's arrogant attitude? What exactly does she bring to Krakoa that requires Xavier and Magneto to cowtow to her? She is not the most powerful telepath (another telepath could of influenced the ambassador) nor is she the wealthiest mutant and she is not funding Krakoa. So why is Charles and Mags indulging her, is it to ship drugs around the world? There are so many ways that can be done without Emma's involvement. Emma has no upper hand here, she has no leverage to negotiate favorable terms with Xavier and Magneto. They can bypass her and go straight to Shaw, but as some have said, she's Hickman's fave so that's all that matters.

I forgot Namor and his abs guest-star in the part where Xavier projects his message to all the world's mutants. He basically tells Chuck asks if he finally noticed that the flatscans will never like the mutants because they're superior to them. He follows by saying that he always knew that he's better than everyone else (except Reed, you c*nt) but he believes Xavier still hasn't reached the same line of thought as him so he tells baldy to piss off.

It wont happen but I vote Selene for the final seat on the council. To make it interesting. Granted there's no way Emma would use her third seat for her, but I can't think other than Scott who she would use it for, unless it's one of the Cuckoos.

Uh the salt about Emma. She's the one that owns the Hellfire Club at the moment, it was made quite explicit and it's also been stated that she's quite influential. Shaw is not in the club, they essentially asked Emma to let him again. Plus she's smart and good with business and politics which is what they need now (she already got herself a mutant nation in the past).

She's not the most powerful TP, but neither is Charles an Omega. She's beaten more powerful telepaths in the past. What they need from her is skill and intelligence. Also, she's fun to read and most probably fun to write too.

It shows that Emma, Magneto, and Sinister are his favorites. Hasn't done much with his other 2 favs. yet, but they may be further down on the love list than the main three.
Thank You. It's very telling who are Hickman favorites.
Monet still had a better showing that Jean and humiliated her. and Berto + sam he will be writing on new mutants.
So i guess he covered all his favorites.
plus he put Jean on a very horrible costume

She is Hickman favorite, no need to justify it. SHe mas murdered inhumans and all the crap things she did on new Tian, but she will be the new face of Krakoa.

She has more political and commercial connections with important people than virtually any other mutant.

But he's so been a nation leader in the past. The whole funding of Utopia was very smart.

Emma’s got the entire apparatus of the HFC at her call - That’s a hell of a lot. Shaw is out on his ear at this point, probably turning tricks for cents in his weird Victorian boxing pants.

Really it just boils down to that. Emma is one of his favorite characters & He loves her as the White Queen. So she's one of the higher ups with some of the most influence & power. In this day & age, almost all writers have pet characters they cater to, characters that only exist to make the pets look good, and characters they just don't care about. And it will show in the writing with no objectivity. Wolverine gets it all the time. Nothing new.

As I mentioned elsewhere, even though Jean got thrown a bone & listed as one of the Omega Levels, Emma has all the good feats. So that label seems to mean nothing.

Also, he specifically admitted last issue he doesn't think of himself as a leader of mutants anymore.

    "What's with Emma's arrogant attitude?"
smh. You know this is Emma, right?

Emma has the most connections with the flatscans. And yes, she is the most wealthy mutant. Her wealth is on par with Stark's.

Also it's easier to get Emma on their side by guilt tripping her with the mutant children than Shaw who's a backstabber and she listens to Xavier most of the time anyway.
