Law and Order:SUV...there's an episode where a college girl does an X-Rated film to make money. A couple male students stumble upon it and think it's ok to assault her. Now in the reruns aired on Ion, the filming of the porn scene is there, the criminal assault is there, and characters say the name of the fake site. Yet, in the begining when one of the guys says, "Hey, isn't this so-and-so?" they blur the logo and graphics of the fake porn site even though of course there's no explicit words or images.

The logo and graphics may have been too close to a real site who threatened to sue if they didn't blur it out in subsequent airings of the episode.

A case of non-censorship: in the 1965 Flintstones episode, 'Rip Van Flintstone', there's not one, but two pictures of nude women on the walls of Barney Rubble's home.

Possible. But how often do Porn producers sue mainstream media for copyright infringement? I'd think most of them would be happy for even a near mention driving traffic to their sites.

LOL! It was called something like "Hot 18yr olds" or "18 yr old Auditions" or something. It was loosely based on a real story.

I'm thinking that the logo was too close to a legit site that isn't pornographic at all and was concerned that they'd get in trouble based on the association with the fictional porn site in the episode.

This was obviously back in the 1980's. I never watched the cartoon series but it was definitely called that back then. Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles as opposed to Ninja Turtles
Late in the series life, they also decided that Michelangelo's nunchucks weren't appropriate, so scene of him using them in the intro were cut and in the episodes he mostly just used a grappling hook.

Even funnier, since the game was on a Nintendo system, you couldn't name your unicycles "Sega" or "Sonic" either. If you tried to enter a banned name, an error message saying "Not Cool Enough" would appear on screen.
There was a Spider-man game where if you tried to enter a swear word as a password /cheat code, Spider-man would jump down and punch the word, turning into something more appropriate like "kittens" or "Fluffy".

yeah, Morbius was ... weird in that show. They couldn't show him sucking blood so they gave him strange leech like suckers on his hands. That looked even more disturbing than it would have if he had been biting people.

Another Spider-man thing, they couldn't call the team of his enemies the Sinister Six. They were the Insidious Six. Yet the X-men show, which usually came on right after it could still use Mr. Sinister.

A more recent example, and I'm not sure if this is censorship or what, Jeff Foxworthy guests starred on an episode of Scooby Doo. Not once did he ever use the word "redneck" but he was constantly making "You might be a county boy," jokes through out the episode.

Should the legal department deal with that? Because blurring it out only gets folks curious. In fact isn't that what an art department is for? Create a fake logo and stuff like Lifetime does with any movie about a scorned wife who goes to the fake version of Google to find ways to kill her man.

    I got a few

Ron Perlman Beauty & The Beast show.

If you watch the opening credits-you see Catherine get in a taxi and there is a guy next to her whose face is blurred out. Even the DVDs do this.

Honey Nut Cherrios pandering to fake woke culture has a commercial with a black man and his OBVIOUS mixed son. When Dad goes to the fridge-you see a photo of the kid with his WHITE mother. Her face is BLURRED out. Mind you this was NOT the case when that ad first aired. This is after fake woke culture fussed about another Cheerio commercial with a black man and white woman and mixed kid.

    Robotech
The episode that expands on Claudia and Roy's relationship was not aired in certain states or stations as a protest to showing interracial relationships.

Disney's Talespin had two episodes pulled over bombing a capital and stereotyping Asians. Both made the dvds.

An episode of Promise Land with Jamil Walker Smith that dealt with school gun violence. It was made around the time of Columbine shooting. NEVER Aired not even in syndication.

    The Last American Virgin movie.

This movie seems to have at least 4 different versions. You can tell if you look at the closing credits and see a female store employee listed. She was not in the theater version but in the first 2 tv cuts. Almost every cut made the run time shorter as if they were looking to censor more stuff.

That last one may be less about censorship and more about cutting the runtime of the film when it runs on broadcast television or basic cable, so that they can squeeze in more commercials.

Wow. Quite prominently displayed, too. The model was called Sandstone Simian, so maybe the censors thought it was supposed to be an ape, even though its clearly a woman?

Recently watching a rerun of Dateline. The story had something to do with someone getting killed over some sort of love triangle. One of the people was a female model. Anyway, they showed a picture of the woman in a bikini and they blurred the woman's chest area. You could see enough of it to tell she wasn't super bosomy and that the design wasn't super revealing. So why the blurring? The only thing I can think of is that maybe you could see a nipple thru the material...perhaps? Thing is, the episode was originally aired on network TV so it's hard for me to think it was all that risque...
