Doesn't Ares carry multiple weapons as part of his standard gear? Would they give him any type of advantage?
We are the Dora Milaje. We are the daughters of the 18 tribes of Wakanda. We are the teeth of the Panther God. Out of 10,000 years of sweat and bloodshed and battle are we born. We are the women of this ancient land. Deadliest of the species. And our time has come!
I lean toward Ben if the weapons aren't standard gear for Ares.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

"One of the maddening but beautiful things about comics is that you have to give characters a sense of change without changing them so much that they violate the essence of who they are." ~ Ann Nocenti, Chris Claremont's X-Men.
Should depend on if Ares gets his swords and axes and crap, yeah.
Didn't Ares take out A-Bomb more or less bare-handed?
Only remember him trying to use the axe to finish the already beaten Rick off.
Yeah, Ares is a bit all over the place in some of his presentations. Him being able to randomly jump into Planck time for example.
Thing is more consistently represented stronger so I'll back him myself.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

Hrm. I want to say he usually at least has an axe or something, but sometimes not.
He's had an axe or other weapon in every appearance I've seen of him, but that's limited to a specific era.
Ares will try to ax him only for Ben to rock his world.
