Which Marvel villain could pull off the similar standalone film that “Joker” has

The Hood would work as a standalone. It's an underdog story with a tragic ending.

Loki was our Joker, imo. But my vote is for Darth Vader. He's a version of Doom with a less ridiculous backstory.

Pretty much any Marvel villain can pull off a movie like this.
It's not hard, just make an Oscar-bait movie, slap a popular character's name In it and superficially add in their motifs so it gets attention.
That's all Joker's doing

The Purple Man could be a great dark story.

Sabretooth would also be a great story if delved into the right way.

And a dark Arcade story would work brilliantly with a young X-Men cast to torment.

For it to be as gritty as Joker, I fell it would need to be a street level or militant villain. Let's see how "Loki" does on Disney Plus.

Honestly, Loki. He has a lot of potential for a gothic, fantasy movie.

Yeah, he wouldn't have been my first pick, but the MCU Loki has tons of potential, which puts him at the top of the list with Doom and Kingpin for me.

Doctor Doom is Marvel's Joker. He is a larger-than-life character like the Joker who has a very complicated relationship to/obsession with his arch-nemesis, doesn't want his face to be seen, dresses ridiculously and hams it up all the time, but may have a more complicated inner life (or maybe that's just what he wants us to think, to get us to let our guard down). Marvel has been doing stories with Doom as the star since the days when Stan Lee was editing, and he'd surely be first choice for a villain-centric movie, especially because Magneto has kind of been done to death in the movies while Doom hasn't.

Magneto carried movies though...only thing that stood out every time.
