DC's "new" timeline revealed at NYCC

Just when you think DC can't make a bigger mess, they run out and prove you wrong.

Now we had to do a lot of squinting. But we have Wonder Woman as the DC Universe’s first superhero, emerging at the same time Krypton explodes and Superman is sent to Earth, crashing in Smallville. It’s is notable that this now happens before World War II. DC Comics has lost the five-year timeline, the ten-year timeline, the fifteen-year timeline and we now go back eighty years. We see the forming of the likes of the JSA, the Freedom Fighters, the All-Star Squadron but, Watchmen style, the government bans superheroes in the mid-fifties. Superman is a lot older, working as a superhero, while Bruce still had both parents. And the JSA should still be around…

This is what we have so far for Generation 1. Feel free to help fill in some of our ‘xxx’ spots and tell us what we got wrong. An update will no doubt follow.
Generation 1

Year 1 Krypton explodes. Rocket crashes in Smallville. Wonder Woman debuts, Steve Trevor crashes on Themescyria

Year 2 Jay Garrick debuts as The Flash. Alan Scott debuts as the Green Lantern. Zatanna debuts as a stage magician. Dan Garrettdebuts as Blue Beetle. Assembles Crew.

Year 3 JSA. Wonder Woman [Redacted] Jay joins JSA. Alan joins JSA. Dinah Drake debuts as Black Canary

Year 4 xxx enter European theater

Year 5 JSA Enters World War II. Freedom Fighters at war. All-Star Squadron formed.

Year 6 Thomas and Martha Wayne xxx [Redacted]. xxx debuts. Justice League [Redacted] Newsboy Legion supports the war effort at home.

Year 7 xxx debuts

Year 8 Wonder Woman retreats to Themesycria following attack xxx. Freedom Fighters disband.

Year 9-11 blank.

Year 12 Dinah Lance born.

Year 13 Clark Kent becomes Superman, works in secret. xxx debut

Year 14 Alfred Pennyworth joins Wayne Family.

Year 15 Blank.

Year 16 Thomas and Martha Wayne death.

Year 17 blank

Year 18 Senate bans superheroes. Clark stops being Superman. The Flash [Redacted]. Alan returns as Green Lantern. JLA xxx . xxx goes underground. Task Force X assembled

Year 19 Arthur Curry’s father dies. Black Manta’s father dies. xxx arrives on Earth.

Year 20 Arthur xxx ‘The Others’ Arthur Meets xxx.

Year 21 Arthur meets xxx.

Year 22 Blank.

Year 23 Blank.

Year 24 [Redacted] Challengers Of The Unknown formed

Year 25 Blank.

Aquaman debuts

That one I can't actually read, but "debuts" is a repeating word and that's the Aquaman row so that's the event that makes sense right after Batman and Superman debuts and meeting all the Aquaman supporting characters

An "everything happened" approach could be intriguing if we get options to read about other eras than what's current. But I'm rather doubting that.

Who's the Bat-family member debuting during the Final Crisis era? Someone "debuts" there. I just can't read it.

Alright, I'm tired. I'm not familiar with other character names to mention anything.

Oh yeah, I did read something that I guess to be All-Star Squadron, but not what they do. So I guess what Bleeding Cool said is what they do.

Wait okay. One last thing.

I think that's Superboy Dies under Infinite Crisis. But that's a pure guess of what happens in Superman row during that event.

So yeah those are years not volumes as I previously thought
Can I start guessing ages now
If Krypton explodes and Clark landed in Smallville at Year 1
Then Clark debuts as Superboy at Age 13 and stops at age 18
Yeah. That fits.

Oh, I can't guess the ages in Generation 2 since the timeline starts with Batman and Superman debuts as adults. Oh well.

But I can say how long Dick is Robin. Let's see...
Starting at Year 3
Becoming Nightwing at Year 15
8 years approx.

Then... Generation 3 The Age of Crisis timeline is another 15 years
Generation 4 timeline is 5 years

I guess that means Clark as Superboy? And Alfred's dad didn't work the Waynes. And we're back to Dinah-as-daughter-of-Dinah, which I have never liked. Is there anything about Ollie - I hope he's not back to being way older than her.

Wish I could read the dang thing and tell. Did they at least let Dick and Barbara be late-20s to mid-30s if Batman's going to be that old?

Since I'm a masochist and I read it again, I think Generation 4 Year 2 and 3 of Batman row has Damian dies and Damian returns because somebody returns at year 3 and I don't know who but Damian's the only high profile death after Bruce and since Bruce already returns in Year 1 after Final Crisis I don't think they're gonna count Endgame.

Also, I'm counting down from Final Crisis under which Damian possibly debuts, and I saw someone born under Zero Hour. Yeah, that's definitely Damian, since he would be 13 at Generation 4 Year 3 Rebirth
