    Default Halloween Monsters

    Halloween is fast approaching.

With that in mind, let's talk monsters. Here is one to start off with:

    Cthulhu

Is he a Nightmare? Or a misunderstood demi-god?

    Neither.

He's an alien that ignorant humans worship as a god.

Worshiping him is akin to worshipping Omega Supreme

I hear he likes to drive a deuce and a quarter. Calms his nerves.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

I guess I'll go ahead and say Demons, but man, I can't say how much it bugs me that we see demon movie after demon movie after demon movie, and not ONCE does an angel of the lord come down, kick the demon's ass back to hell and leave. I mean, I've always been so annoyed how Demons/devils ARCH ENEMIES and COMPLETE OPPOSITES can be so chill with letting them run rampant all over the mortal realms.

That would make for a short and boring story, unless dragged out with excuses for why the angel doesn't do anything right away. This isn't a problem for most horror movies, because most kinds of monsters don't have a more powerful good counterpart that should be stomping them. For example, vampire movies would be pretty short and uninteresting if their lore included anti-vampires who happened to be more powerful than regular vampires. In fact, the entire horror genre is dependent on either the absence or indifference of God.
