With Doomsday Clock finally(!) winding down (And I know it's a DC comic) I was thinking of what some of the best twelve issue maxi series were. I' asked this question on the DC side, so for this thread list what you think are the best Marvel ones. For me some are:

- Runaways, the first volume being an 18-issue maxi, counts I believe. It wasn't until Vol 2 where it became an ongoing.
- Superior Foes of Spider-Man, think like Arrested Development with supervillains. It was intended to be a 12 issue series, but got extended to 17.
- For an out-of-universe example, Marvel 1602. It's a historical reimagining of Marvel courtesy of Neil Gaiman.

Best of all time for me would be Watchmen.
But for Marvel? Probably that Squadron Supreme mini. I did not love the art, but dayum, that was a great storyline.
And, much like the Watchmen, I don't think it could have been told to that effect with more popular / established characters, like the Justice League or Avengers. Too much character baggage to get in the way of the story itself.

Ooh, I forgot Avengers Forever was a 12 parter! I like that one even more than Squadron Supreme!
