Default Top 7 Best Bands of all Time

I realize this is a big question. Am not even sure, but I'm curious to know what you think. I'll definitely have The Beatles at #1 for different reasons.

Beatles, Stones and Zeppelin. the next two could be any of the following...The Who, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, AC/DC, U2, Queen, The Beach Boys, and others....

If we are just talking Rock and Roll.

Do the Funk Brothers count? Motown's house band that played on thousands of songs and hundreds of hits?

    In no particular order:

Glenn Miller Band, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan, Leadbelly, Carter Family
Every day is a gift, not a given right.

Am I the only one who thinks Zeppeling is overrated? I enjoy some songs but I much rather listen to other bands like Aerosmith or Santana.

I's count them. Or sneak them in as Earl Van Dyke & The Soul Brothers, because they recorded and toured under that name.

James Jamerson and Benny Benjamin are immortals in my personal pantheon of music.

I'll include solo artists, because the line gets very blurred...

    In no order:

    The Beatles
    David Bowie
    Madness
    The Divine Comedy
    Bob Dylan
    The Kinks
    Rolling Stones

Probably not. That doesn't make it true though.

I can give a definitive top 4 - Led Zeppelin, Rush, Bruce Springsteen and Yes. After that you can take your pick from - Queen (esp. 70's era), Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, a-ha, Fleetwood Mac, Opeth, AC/DC, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, The Rolling Stones, Genesis (70's era again mainly though), Whitesnake (original British blues Whitesnake in particular) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, The Who, The Kinks, Free and a host of other bands.

I only started really delving into The Beatles catalogue a couple of months ago. Before that I was more of a Stones guy. It's fabulous stuff though. I love Rubber Soul in particular.
