I don’t know who the top 7 bands of all time are.
I have not listened to 90% of the bands who
Are often mentioned to know if they are better
Than the bands I do know and feel should be
    In the top 7
But I do feel pretty confident
In putting the Beatles and Led Zeppelin
    In that list
After that it all comes down to what
    Each person likes
Personally I like bands I just discovered
The past ten years as much as bands I
    Have loved for decades.

Seems a disservice to subsume them as "Bob Dylan." That would be like referencing the Beatles only as "Tony Sheridan."
I've never heard of "The Band". Every Bob Dylan album I have is credited to "Bob Dylan", so I can't think of anything else to refer to him as.

If anyone has done "The Band" a disservice, it was a long time before I came along.

You've undoubtedly heard some of their songs: "The Weight" ("take a load off Fanny..."), "Up On Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" and maybe some others.

The Band was not Bob Dylan's band. They toured with him in 1965-66 and played on some of the songs on Blonde on Blonde. But Dylan used a variety of studio musicians on his albums. Notably Al Kooper and Mike Bloomfeld. You can say The Band is one of the most important bands of all time. You can say Dylan is one of the most important artist. But not Bob Dylan and The Band.

I don't recognise them by name - and judging by what Kirby says, they probably weren't even involved with most of my favourite Bob Dylan songs, so I'll still to referring to Bob Dylan.

    Thanks.

That's just reinforced that when I talk about Bob Dylan, I'm talking about Dylan, not "The Band"

This, right here. Absolutely, no comparison between both bands.

One is considered a legendary, supremely talented & iconic musicians that's set the standard for other rock bands to imitate/follow. The other is something...else.
