This week I'm raising the Skull and Crossbones for foxley and El Cazador!

    Foxley for me as well.

I forgot how difficult it is to choose a cover to vote for... Great contest as usual!

(And I have to thank Iron Maiden and the Captain for the welcome - even if I still have to figure what HM is standing for )

SquirrelMan . I bought that issue a year or so back and loved the story.

Iron Maiden but honorable mention to Icctrombone. I do love the Demon.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

As we set sail on this contest, we have two vying for the position of captain, who shall prevail and who will wind up the first mate?

    First our crew-

covers from the following received 1 vote each: Javasaurus, Shalla Bal, Nschornhorst, Tami, Kirby101, and Squirrel Man

covers receiving 2 votes from Iron Maiden

our second mate, whose cover received 4 votes: Ajax_X

and finally the final conflict to determine who sets the course, receiving 5 votes each are the covers from ChadH and foxley.

Someone who has not voted yet can break the tie, and if someone could notify the winner when it happens, as I am off to my cabin to retire for the night...

    I'll do it.

This is a tough choice, but I got to give the vote of foxley because of the scenic nature of the cover.

Great covers though. If I knew more of pirates I would've participated.

Wow! This is a surprise. Thanks to everyone who voted for me, and commiserations to ChadH (although, as consolation, I did vote for you).

As a note to anyone who goes looking for that spectacular El Cazador cover, that is the cover on the 2nd printing of El Cazador #1. (Along with Ruse, El Cazador was the title I was sorriest to lose when CrossGen collapsed.)

    New contest up soon.

    Excellent job, foxley!
