Some bassists seem to be drawn to the song Amazing Grace. Both Vic Wooten and Chris Squire of Yes are known for doing amazing versions of that song in concert.

Now for something completely different. There's nothing in the title of this thread that restricts it to great bass lines in rock music, so just for fun, here's some bluegrass. Tom Gray is widely regarded as perhaps the best bassist in that musical genre, and here he is providing the driving beat for The Seldom Scene, as they play "Rider" (a song that was frequently performed by the Grateful Dead) live in 1975.
