I just think it’s neat that Apocalypse remembers his time as Murshid En Sabah Nur and as a free-loving rebel. It fits in nice with what Moira has said was stopping him from joining with the others due to his “primal state” at the time. While he hasn’t completely let go of his hardline “Survival of the Fittest” stance, I think his experiences during X-Men: Black, Disassembled, and Age of X-Man did help mellow him out a bit.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing how he acclimatises to working alongside the heroes for a change. And just how sexy, Marcus To draws him...of course. (Loving his Excalibur look)

He died in Age of X-Man trying to stop Omega Red, but I’m sure he’s been resurrected on Krakoa by now.

    New Article about Excalibur:

Excalibur Writer Explains Why Apocalypse Has Joined the X-Men

I love this quote from Tini Howard:
"He’s always been concerned with the ascension of mutants and it’s not that he feels as though his work is done now. It’s quite the contrary; it’s that his work must change," explained Howard in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "He was a general when he had to be a general, and now that the fight has changed, his tactics have changed. We’re gonna see an Apocalypse who’s a scholar and is someone who is able to work for the greatness of mutantkind as a thinker, as an artist, as a priest. We’ll see him in these roles we’ve never seen him in before."

A Priest huh? Guess that is why he changed his appearance. But an artist? Uhh.. ok. I like how he is written in the previews so I have no issues. Looks interesting.
I only continue to read X-books because I don't spend any money on it.

You know, there is something ironically satisfying to see Apocalypse, an Egyptian, invade Otherworld, so English.

That quote is EVERYTHING I really enjoy the idea of Scholar!Apocalypse. Never thought Hickman would ever make me excited for Poccy of all villains but man I'm loving this alliance of Xavier, Magneto, and Apocalypse. Despite him not taking up the role of general I still hope we see him throw down he's got to defend his title as the First Mutant.

I think • ••[A]•• • will be the standout character in Excalibur.

I'd like to see him invade Rome. Rome f**ked Egypt up long before the modern Western world did.

He's not the first mutant, though.

I am loving the new change of direction of Apocalypse. But we should have seen that coming for a long time but ignored it from these references of X-Man and AVX and other issues.
