This was a solid 8 overall. The 3 bedrooms being connected is a 10 though.

Hickman's voice for Scott was pretty great this issue, it's distinct and he has a good handle on his character, even the small things like Scott telling Storm that he was going to check in on her later, just in case, was great. As was his conversation with Polaris. Magneto, Emma, Apocalypse, Charles and Cyclops are all going to shine throughout this run for sure.

It's a matter of opinion and perspective, really. If everyone involved is open and honest about it, it can work. The issues with it are a) that Scott is or will be clearly going beyond the limits, sleeping with more people than Jean, Emma and Logan (LOL), b) it's impossible to suspend disbelief that Logan and Scott would ever actually sit down and have a conversation about Jeansharing, and c) Jogan has always been treated as very one-sided, with one party's advances usually refused by the other, in several different occasions. This is all going to eventually implode, of course, but it's still too weird and fanfic-y.

In sum, the concept of polyamory is not a problem to me, it just feels too weird for this particular group of people. Which is probably what Hickman intended, but it still pulls me out of the story too much.

A solid issue. Great interactions, and some interesting stuff established.

Hickman did a good job with Cyclops. Really enjoyed the Polaris/Magneto dynamic as well.

The crazy antics of the Summer household was nice. Not sure why people think Teen Cable was OOC... he acted like a teen. Vulcan was different, but I'm sure that's because they did away with the evil aspects of the character.

Jean and Rachel didn't bring much to the table, but it was expected their roles would be small.

That female scientist is super annoying.

Art wasn't particularity strong. Sometimes it looked better than Yu's other work, but some panels weren't up to snuff. Polaris' costume suffered the most.

If I was the X-Men editor I would force all the artists to add a hidden Sinnister in each issue. You’d get to play Where’s Essex(Waldo) every Wednesday.
