I see polygamy and open relationships out in the world all the time.
This was almost a perfect issue. Having Hickman write an X-Men book is a dream come true. Having the first issue feature the Summers family was the cherry on top. I'm not the biggest fan of the joining rooms things, I think the idea of a Krakoa Orgy is stupid, but I'll take what I can get. Loved this issue.
Not bad. We got X-Men rescuing mutants, Magneto worship, villain screen time and Summers.
Wolverine was so out of place tho. Geez.
9/10.
"Cable was right!"
Love that the polyamory in the Summer House centers around Jean rather than Scott. It’s more about Jean getting what she wants and not this “Alpha Male Cyclops embraces polygamy and gets all the babes he wants” narrative that’s unsurprisingly popped up. And of course, those open relationships extend to Emma and maybe even more on the island.
Also, I love Vulcan.
We joke abt threesums but Sinister made it very clear Scott and Jean are in a comitted relationship. Just not an exclusive one. Marvel does love triangles all the time but showing a functional relationship that isnt monogamous is somehow too edgy. Ok.
What happens when Logan starts going to Scott’s room more than Jean’s? The drama of it all.
