MCU Avengers versus Team Kongou Banchou

The battle takes place in the middle of a deserted Ashina Castle from Sekiro. The two teams will start off on opposite sides of the castle and must find and defeat each other.

All Banchou are at their highest levels of displayed power, with the exception of Kongou who is limited to the levels shown in his fight with Hakai Banchou.

i was looking for a reason to re-read kongou banchou.

I'm assuming that the Banchou team are pretty damn niche so I'll do an overview of their abilities here. I can give more specific feats if required.

Kongou Banchou (circa his battle with Hakai Banchou)

Approximately 10 feet tall and a big old brick. Akira Kongou is a massively superstrong brick with reasonable super speed and pretty high end regeneration. At the time of his battle with Hakai Banchou, he was capable of healing from two broken legs in approximately 15 seconds and was throwing hands hard enough to make earthquakes that were felt on mainland Japan. He's absurdly durable, Bakunetsu Banchou and himself were hitting each other with cruise missiles that then detonated and neither of them cared. Akira then dropped Bakunetsu in one serious hit.

He also has Arakure (Violent/Rowdy) mode where his skin turns iron red and he becomes much larger and stronger. He's destroyed building sized robots in this form, obliterated bricks that were stronger than his base form and his strength has been noted as more than tripling.

He's also fast enough to run on water and dodge people with blink-movement style super speed consistently.

Nenbutsu Banchou

Raionji uses his powerful lungs to launch powerful sound attacks. These attacks can shatter boulders, destroy robot automatons, blast through multiple inch thick bulletproof glass and, at his highest, he held off the swinging fist of a 300 metre tall giant who was capable of decimating a city with his attack. He wasn't able to stop it but he slowed it down though it took everything he had to do so.

He's got ambiguously high super strength and his durability is such that he's capable of taking hits from bricks on Akira's level without dying though it does mess him up.

Hikyou Banchou

Prep master, surprise attack specialist and highly dangerous hand to hand fighter. Hikyou Banchou primarily uses a titanium thorned whip, super durable wires attached to his fingers that can cleave through super durable opponents like cheese and also set on fire. He also regularly employs poison, anesthetic, throwing knives, landmines, disguises and other such tricks. He also has the ability to apparently set up pitfall, spike and dart traps with great speed. Finally, one of his hands contains an armour piercing grenade cannon.

His physical stats are such that he can beat down ambiguously metahuman opponents, blitz metahuman opponents and hold his own with blink-type speedsters.

Iai Banchou

A high level anime samurai. Iai Banchou cuts through stone, steel, buildings, super durable opponents and has speed feats for days. Capable of fighting blinded with no issue and has all sorts of surprising techniques.

Arguably the fastest member of the team. He can do blink type movement, do dozens of slashes in an instant and other such stuff.

Gouriki Banchou

Another brick, in this case with exceptional durability. Blessed with a 'hyperion constitution' Gouriki Banchou effortlessly hefts weaponry that weighs tens of tons, punches people to other prefectures and is so naturally durable that spikes that go through solid lumps of iron can't even break her skin. Her highest strength feat is catching the fist of a 300 metre tall giant who was wrecking a city with single hits.

She's got broadly ambiguous enhanced speed but her brick status is her main thing.

Machine Banchou

High level brick, roughly akin to base level Kongou Banchou. He's a robot so he can fly at likely a couple of mach, shoot 2,000,000 volts of electricity, has rocket fists and the like. He has self-repair nanomachines but they work far too slowly to be relevant to the fight.

Sasori Banchou

Reasonably strong brick, was able to fist fight with Akira albeit when he was a fair bit weaker and hold her own. She's eaten hits that see her smashed into a multiple foot deep crater without dying. She's a master of pressure points so she can knock people out on contact, paralyse them and power up her allies by releasing their biological limiters. Her left arm is full of so many bolts and her bones are tough enough that a drill that goes through solid rock like cheese couldn't break it.

Make of that last part what you will.

I'll give my thoughts

VERSUS

Team Kongou Banchou
Kongou Banchou (circa his battle with Hakai Banchou)

The Marvel team have flight advantage in both Tony, Thor, Steve(?) and Carol, Machine Banchou is the only guy on the other side who can contest them in the sky and, while he's mad strong and powerful, I don't like his odds of throwing down with the four biggest guns by himself. They also have much great range on their side between Thor, Steve, Tony and Carol all being able to lay down beams and so forth.

On the flipside, if team Kongou can close range then things get very messy very quickly. Iai is more than fast enough to blitz at close range and lethal enough to kill anyone not metahuman instantly. Hikyou's traps, while not hugely damaging, are quite impressively put together and can sow disruption very quickly. Gouriki and especially Kongou outpace everyone else there in terms of strength and raw durability (by my estimations) and both are quick to worrying degree. Arakure mode is like... that's a big problem right there.

Overall, I'd quietly back the Marvel side but there's a lot of moving parts to this.

Like, if Kongou ties up Carol and Thor (something he's fairly capable of doing) then that leaves the rest of the team quite shorthanded.

Marvel 6/10 for me. That range and flight is pretty nasty.
