Default Netflix picks up Jeff Smith's Bone for animated series!

Bone is one of the best fantasy comics ever made so this is great news! Can't wait to see the great cow race in animation!

Been a fan of Bone ever since Wizard Magazine touted it as the next big thing during the mid-90's. I remember reading a handful of interviews that Jeff Smith gave back then, and I got the impression that he held a strong desire to eventually make an animated adaptation of his creation. After all these years, I'm glad that it's finally going to happen.

Please let this be traditional 2D animation...

I've been a fan since Smith ran his comic strip Thorn In the Ohio State student newspaper. I really hope this comes through for him.

The only production notes I've read have been a proposal with 2D in B&W with modern 3D CGI in color and superimposing them back and forth. Akin to SM:ITSV.

I wish those old comic strips were easy to find & available for purchase.

    Jeff Smith confirms 2D... excellent.

The two animated series I'm currently following on Netflix (Disenchantment and Hilda) are both 2D and both brilliant.

A good thing about a Bone series is that you can add in just about as many new side stories as you want and always keep coming back to the main comics story. Though with Netflix shows you usually only get 30-40 episodes to play with, so they probably won't go too far afield.
