I don't tend to like omnibus this huge, but I may have to make a exception for these.

Checked the issue numbers. This omnibus will cover the first 5 volumes of the paperback Byrne's run.

The second volume will probably include Byrne's volumes 6-9 and World of Krypton series.

Either way, I'm excited to have these collected in omnibus format.

This sounds cool. I love Man of Steel, but always stopped there as the sheer amount of Byrne’s stuff seemed intimidating. This might be a good way to finally try it.

DC: The Flash, Challenge of the Super Sons, Nightwing

I like how it does not collide with the "Exile" Omnibus at all.

Love to get a collection of these but... urg... Omnis are such a bother to read. Can't take them to the train, or at break at work. At least not without danger to damage them, myself or other people :P

Yeah, the format is great for getting material, nice big pages too, but I'm not so big on the actual reading experience. Still I think two huge books and then Exile is a very solid collection.

I'm looking forward to this one. I held off on the trades in the hope that we'd get an omnibus.

I was just thinking about how good it would be to have this collected that way.

Don't fret, its not too intimidating. After MoS, the John Byrne run is compiled into TPB's that have all them all in nice order of all the series he was doing. I also love that the Trades include the covers so you can tell which issue you're about read and see how it appeared on the newsstand.

But yes, this is awesome. I've been thinking of buying all the trades (8 volumes yes?) but now I might have to rethink it!

Yeah it's going to oversized hardcover volumes, which I prefer to be honest. I have the JSA omnibuses and some others and while great, I can't actually finish the damn thing in one sitting.
