Agreed, if they are changing it to a more manageable physical size I'm for that. Omnibuses aren't exactly the easiest to read.
Anyone have the link about it being split to two volumes? I couldn't see anything on amazon.
Should be that one: https://www.amazon.com/Superman-Man-...7761739&sr=8-1
It still have some of the omnibus infos like which issues it contains and the direct omnibus reference in the text; but the details already show the new page amount of 480. I guess it will about the same format as the COIE Companion Volumes are; about 33% to 50% of an omnibus.
This one lists the correct issues for the first

And this would be the second.

Thanks for that. Amazon still has the incorrect issues listed in their descriptions.
Oh and the it doesn't include all of Byrne's Action Comics run up until #600. Do you think there will be 3 volumes??
Just pre-ordered my copy of Vol 1 on amazon. Its 480 pages, which is manageable. Vol 2 seems to be coming out in Jan.
Dang, I have most of these in trade. I don't know if I'll get it, given that detail.
"You know the deal, Metropolis. Treat people right or expect a visit from me."
I don't blame you! I kicked myself for having the trades at one point but selling them, because now a few of the volumes are super hard to find and crazy expensive. But as long as I have them all, thats all I care about, and this might be my best bet.
It will be great handing this to my son eventually!
I ended up preordering this myself. I was hoping it was going to be oversized but now I suspect it will fit right next to the Gil Kane and Garcia Lopez books from awhile back. I only ever got the original Man of Steel mini-series and a few single issues here and there. This will be my first real deep dive into that era. I hope they eventually get to Generations.
As all of this is already available, the real question is when will the Roger Stern/Kerry Gammill/George Perez stuff following Byrne become available properly collected?
While I know many are not fans of recoloring on older comics I would like to see at least the Man Of Steel six-issue mini series get some type of deluxe treatment but with recoloring done properly and maybe some stuff like sketches, early pitches and such.
