I'll wager a lot of Trumps family have lost lot of money too. I have no clue whether or not the plus' outweight the minus' but I'll wager there's been a financial and personal cost to being attactched to Trump. I honest to god would bet some of his family with Trump didn't run for President.

How exactly could that be? It's hard to remember this now, but in 2016 Trump and his family were nobodies, his casinos were failing and his TV show had long faded from prominence, the only thing sort of keeping him in the public eye was when he jumped onto that birther bandwagon and was decisively smacked down for his trouble. If he hadn't run for president he might have still made a couple bucks here and there from selling his ties or from Trump University, but no more so than your average informercial huckster. His children were barely public figures at all, I guess some people had a vague idea of who Ivanka was, but she had nothing really going for her to distinguish her from any other blonde socialite, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who even knew of the existence of his other kids. It is indisputable that they benefited financially from his presidency.

How W. Bush and Cheney are still walking around free is mind-boggling.
Bush was bad, but his crimes were "political" crimes that other presidents had committed before, and that his successors had to worry they might be tempted to do as well. Trump is Trump.

Is it me or did that disastrous press conference with Trump yelling at Peter Alexander over a very normal question make the stock market react? It had been holding at 150 to 180 for a few hours, it doubled those losses after that embarrassing display.

Nixon would have been prosecuted if Ford had not pardoned him. Many were upset that Obama made Bush and his cronies off limits, "for the good of the country" Just made it easier for future Presidents to engage in criminal activity. And that leads us to our current POTUS perhaps the most corrupt man to ever sit in the Oval Office. Who weekly, and sometimes daily, engages in high crimes and misdemeanors. If the Dems win in November, he cannot be let off.

I'm pretty sure that's not how this works. The "Muh Guy Lost" thing is tiresome from you guys.
As I said in the quote you quoted, people have shitted on Progressives for years, then expect some of us to turn around and vote because Trump bad.

You really don't see the hypocrisy of using Fear tactics in your "Democratic Process" which is looking more and more, unlike a Democratic process?

Both sides are using shitty means to get their preferred guy to "win" and suppressing the vote. but Democrats are actually trying to suppress turnout this fall by smacking their left flank in the face because "Muh Guy Lozt!"

You can't seriously expect everyone to vote for the "Winner dude" after getting stomped on for years by the establishment?

Everyone who wants to be POTUS has a bit of an ego. Some people that post here think Having an Ego for certain people is bad, but for others is good.
All you get from being POTUS in today's world is Book Deals, Inside information, talk show appearances, corporate funding, outsized political power which is usually used to placate the people without actually helping them.

For instance, I used to love Barack, now I merely like him. Because a lot of the bad **** he did gets swept under the rug, because he speaks well, placates the crowd, and he has that all important D, next to his name.
I've always hated Bush and Trump, but even most of their **** gets swept under the rug, they don't speak well, the do placate their crowd, and to the Republicans it's not the R, but how much money you can give them.

When I was growing up in Philly in the 80's Home Economics wasn't just baking and sewing. It was literally how to get your finances decent, save some up, prioritize which gets paid and trying to have some left overs.

Americans get dumber every year as technology progresses, simply because a lot of the basics schools used ot teach are no longer there.
Some people I know want the Bible taught as a class, instead of true Home Ec.

I mean Philly gave us a 25 dollar passbook checking account at Mellon Bank to learn how to use money properly in the 80's. Hell the city sent my schools French stuents on a trip to France if over a certain percent hit A's for all three years.

I don't know what's happened to school since then.

Power protects power. Democrats do it, Republicans do it. It boils down to when it's my person it's okay, the corruption.

When a poster only cares about politics during an active election season, and then very closely follows well known talking points, one has to wonder if there is some kind of financial interest there.

Governor Murphy (NJ) live online talking about shutting down the whole state, about PPE supplies, about increasing testing, and other related issues. Also said that NJ-NY-CT-PA-DE need $100 Billion from Federal government.
