We tried it that way for our first couple of Presidential elections back in the late 18th century. Did not turn out well.

It worked till some one other than George Washington ran for president. George didn't like political parties and was not a member of any, he should be considered or first and only "independent" president. It was when Adams (Federalist) and Jefferson ( Democratic-Republican Party/ Anti-Federalist) both ran for president that party lines began to get drawn out on a national scale. Then after the craziness of the election of 1800 where "running mates" were some what introduced that the need for the 12 amendment was clear after a 2 party system organically developed in the country despite the Consultation containing not one word about political parties.

Among the pole dancers critical of the decision was Steven Retchless, a gay male pole dancer who made the semi-finals on Season 6 of “America’s Got Talent” and won the title in 2010 of American Pole Fitness Champion.
“The pole stigma is associated with sex work, but sex workers whether they’re on a pole or not are humans, too, and shouldn’t be discriminated against for providing a service as old as time,” Retchless told the Washington Blade. “Get over it and support the whole gay community — not just the picture perfect, ‘masc for masc,’ fit-into-a-box and label-me-conservative side.”
Retchless, who studied dance as a youth at the Las Vegas Academy of Perfoming Arts & California Institute of the Arts, has toured internationally and taught at Body & Pole studio in New York City.
Denouncing both Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren, Retchless indicated his support instead for Bernie Sanders.
“I don’t believe in politics,” Retchless said. “I think it’s all carefully orchestrated by corporations and conglomerates fueled by greed. Pete and Warren are just in it to divide up the Democrats and the only one with a history of fighting for human rights is Sanders.”

According to a news statement from “Queers Not Here for Mayor Pete,” staff arrived four hours early to prepare for the fundraiser. The cancellation, the group says, came just 12 minutes before the expected start time, cost the bar an estimated $1,000 and workers were unable to receive tips they had anticipated.

What a sleazy, filthy, dirty, unclean person. No wonder he only made it to the semifinals. Totally understand now why there was all the pole dancer dehumanization when I first posted about this. How could I have been so wrong as to think they were people who deserve respect? People with dreams and aspirations other than solely grinding themselves suggestively on a filthy pole in a dark, seedy sex club? Pssssh. Why should anyone try to fight that stigma? I mean, they hosted HILLARY, so that tells you everything you need to know about their loyalties, I guess.

Anyway, the Dark Lady CLEARLY brought all of this on themselves, after all. I mean, wear a stripper pole in public and you deserve whatever people assume about you, amirite? The stigma this entire kerfuffle is about at its heart has NOTHING to do with hypocritical fundamentalist dogma about healthy sexual expression infecting the general public thanks to decades of anti-sex propaganda from religious fundamentalist extremists running things...

Personally, I stay consistent. I don't do purity tests. I wouldn't rebuke Rogan or the people that come with him. But I'm not a hypocrite either. I would justify it for Bernie or Biden or Warren or anyone else. And I have the last few pages. Just like I did when I argued against attacking Bernie with the 1994 crime bill. Just as I would with Biden. My argument stay consistent regardless of candidate. Can you say the same?

That whole little spiel was meant to show inconsistency. It does, you consider if it applies to you.

The issue was never "Oh their sleazy" its that (unfortunately) their PERCEIVED as sleazy. Americans cant even agree on whether their neighbour's deserve free healthcare let alone whether sex work (or something associated with it, even if its merely bad preconceptions) is a legitimate honest job.
