Agreed, but that response was deeply problematic. The only zinger Bloomberg got all night flustered Sanders on it too. I can tell you, Trump is going to pound that very issue into the ground and Bernie has to have a better counter punch. For sure don't walk into that trap.
Problem is, capitalism in America is what is unofficially known as "unregulated capitalism". Capitalism with a series of checks and balances like the government could allow for a level of prosperity and minimize the income gap, but the existing billionaires class will never allow the majority of poor people to go anywhere near their money. The vast sum of their caste is inherited wealth, so they don't want their descendants to be at a lower level than they were.
Not only did he let it stick, he tried to haphazardly embrace it! This is something a primary is good for: flesh out what can trap you and what can't. Generate good arguments to effective punches. I hope Bernie's people took notes on that one as a red flag to improve.
Warren's response on that was MUCH better.
Pete is sooo rehearsed. I kinda want to pull the football from his feet like Lucy. He's so damn insufferable.
Then make that distinction like Warren did. Sanders tried to, at times, but mostly it was rambling. Look at the contrast between Warren's counter punch to Bloomberg and Bernie's. Warren's was effective, heartfelt, positive, and didn't put her in any boxes. Sanders walked right into the "you're a millionaire with three houses" trap and appeared visibly shook by it. Warren's response allowed no such biting retort.
Bernie should co-opt that message as he goes forward. If not the specifics, then the tenor of it.
What the hell were those idiots screaming when Biden gave his closing remarks?
This was clearly drafted by Bloomberg before the debate methinks.
Tonight, I stood on a stage with a group of politicians.
They talked, because that’s what they’re good at.
They went on and on about what they could and should do.
I have built. I have created actual change. I have gotten it done.
That’s what I’ll do for America. #DemDebate

Apparently Bloomberg's wikipedia page got a vandaledit. Died February 19th, 2020. Cause of death: Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Dark does not mean deep.
So every candidate on the stage but Sanders basically said "yeah we'll let the superdelegates mess with it even if the person with the most votes and delegates doesn't get the nom". Yeah that's a recipe for disaster and why about half the country doesn't believe in the process
