Yeah but this thing is, the virus IS as bad as the WHO is saying, if not worse, and climate change is definitely a serious threat. Pretending that problems don't matter won't make them go away.

Reading about how Tom Hanks was lucky to be able to be in Australia right now and easily get tested and how efficient and methodical they are being with their testing protocols and quarantine is surreal. Compared to the messy unorganized slapped together sideshow we are seeing here.

All joking aside, I’m worried. I understand that for my age group it isn’t that much of a concern (but let’s not minimize getting sick and having to take time off work/still having to do school work while sick—that sucks). But I am worried about my grandpa, who works a retirement job in retail, and is being treated for leukemia. And I would just appreciate some actual leadership and demonstration of how we were planning on taking care of the vulnerable and enabling people to act appropriately without economic concern for ducking out on work if they are sick. But, no, instead we are worrying about how to preserve a stock market whose speculators are notorious for overreacting to new information. It would drop—but it would be better in the long run to have a clear plan of action to mitigate this.

I understand that. my father is disabled and is at a high risk for getting sick. I didnt mean to offend anyone and I am sorry if I did. Was just taking a light hearted jab at Trump. I am kind of concerned not just for the virus but for the sheer panic people are showing because of it.

Former Cincinnati council woman Tamaya Dennard was indicted by a federal grand jury for honest service wire fraud, bribery, and attempted extortion in an attempt to sell her votes for between ten and fifteen grand. One of the people she approached recorded her and turned the recording over to the FBI. That is what started this whole thing.

Now I dont know if she is guilty or not but it bothers me that her first defense of this last week was to blame her political opponents who were going after her for being a woman and a Person of Color. This is not the first scandal she has been involved in. In both cases she has played the woman and race card and I dont like that. She also has a habit of calling political opponents racist and sexist. There are real instances of racism and sexism going on in politics. To see it pulled out in defense of illegal activity is wrong in my view.

The difference is in the quantity of corruption.
