"If she was being watched, what was she hiding", or something along those lines I would think.

There's always things to hold against politicians, I just don't get why people make things up. And that's the only stuff that ever seems to gain traction, it's so strange.

Amash is a wildcard of sorts, and Pelosi already has enough qualified people among the Democrats.

It was suggested by even some left wing pundits for 2 reasons, if the person I read was correct.

Amash practiced law more recently and can play the part better than many others.

It might help disarm the countercharge of partisanship among the general public ( at least those who are more conservative and are undecided).

I'm glad they didn't add him to the team. I wouldn't want to see Amash asking the same irrelevant questions that Jim Jordan asked.

My grandma always said we were related to Jesse James. That's the kind of dumb thing every family has. It's all just so dumb...
Yes, she's getting a pass from the left on this. I guarantee you if this was in Bernie or Biden's past it would not be as downplayed. I'm not feeding any narratives, just making an observation.

It's dumb, but something being "dumb" hasn't stopped it from being leveled against people before. I'm not making the argument it "should" be a bigger deal, just the observation that it almost certainly would be for Biden or Bernie. In that sense, she's getting off easy IMO.

Nope, I've been hearing this stuff from Grass Roots Progressives, not Trump & co. Many of them hate Warren far more than anyone on the Right, FYI, but I digress. As usually you greatly simplify things. The Democratic Party is far from united, as is the Left as a whole in this country. If anyone doubts my assertation take a look at this very thread or twitter or anywhere people talk politics.

I promised Tendrin I wouldn't rundown Warren anymore in this thread so I'll only post this small correction.

Warren is hated by many actual socialists because she identifies as a capitalist, albeit a progressive one. Personally, I liken it to groups like PETA hating it when the Humane Society or the ASPCA manage to get laws passed mandating more ethical treatment of farm animals - the former wants the system broken down, and making fixes delays when that can happen.

I identify as a Libertarian, and I like Warren. I might think she goes a little too far, but she has correctly identified the underlying problems in many cases - that the free market has been subverted into crony capitalism (which I call Socialism for the benefit of rich people) and the benefits it is supposed to offer the working and even professional class have been stolen (often under force of law) and taken by the donor class. The CFPB is also exactly the type of regulatory agency I support, or rather, it was before a payday loan exec managed to get placed in charge - ot was focused primarily on protecting consumers from dishonest business practices, which is what regulations are supposed to be for, IMO. Protecting the consumer, worker, general public, or the free market itself (of facilitating one of those goals).

You summed up the issue very well. Worstblogever posting that info that smears Warren (I'll admit this happens) only comes from the Right is flat out wrong. Warren's most ardent critics come from the Far Left.

That's not getting a pass, that's the opposite of a pass. A pass is when you do something and it's ignored, this is when you do nothing and people sit on it forever like they're planning on burrowing in to hibernate through the winter.

Biden's lead is huge in a new Florida primary poll but Bernie has the biggest lead against Trump in the general.
