Here are her qualifications before she became senator of a state she never lived in: she was a lawyer which isn't a big deal because there are tens of thousands of lawyers out there. She was first lady of Arkansas and then first lady of the US. Which of these qualified her to be senator of a state she didn't live in until right before she ran (she lived in Arkansas and Washington DC for the 30 years prior). Then with only a single term's experience as a senator she became Secretary of State. Exactly how does one term as a rookie senator with no prior congressional experience qualify one to be Secretary of State. Her last name thats how and the fact that Bill Clinton had power in the democratic party. And Bill Clinton would have been re-elected in 2000 if he could have ran for a third term. There was no "in spite of Bill" back then because his popularity actually increased after his sex scandal and impeachment. It was always so laughable when people back in 2016 would call her "the most qualified candidate ever" because of how absurd it was comparing to many prior candidates and presidents. For instance George H.W. Bush was a military vet, an ambassador, the CIA director, a congressman, and vice president before he ever became president. Hilary's qualification pale in comparison to him. As they do to Al Gores, John Kerry, Bob Doles, and many other recent candidates. In fact the only recent major candidate she was more qualified than was Obama because she had a few more years as senator and while being First Lady isn't a great qualification she at least knew her way around the white house. And Trump of course. If they had stuck to "she's more qualified then Trump" then there is no argument as she clearly was but no it was "she is the most qualified candidate ever."

George W Bush was a recovering alcoholic and failed businessman at everything he touched. He was picked to run for governor because of his last name but at least it was a state he lived in unlike Hilary Clinton becoming senator. Two terms later he rode his name to the presidency.

As I said, it was silly and you seem to see that now, too.

I'd say George W Bush was more qualified than her. He had eight years experience as governor to her four years as Senator before she began running for president.

Neither was qualified when they first started running for public office. There qualifications grew but its a stretch to say either was truly qualified to be president yet.

Its funny how blind many of the people here are toward Hilary Clinton. I think its because of Trump derangement. Yes Trump sucks but his suckiness does not somehow make Hilary great.

I'll say the same thing right now about Pete Buttigieg. On the issues he and Biden are the two who most closely align to me however he is absolutely unqualified due to lack of experience and should not be in contention. I'm actually surprised he's doing as well as he is.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one never thought Clinton was great, she was simply a better and saner option than Trump. She screwed up her 2016 campaign royally by practically ignoring the Rust Belt while her "deplorables" comment regarding Trump supporters, while ultimately proven accurate, alienated more people than expected. Clinton was not everything for all voters, but when compared to Trump and the craziness he brought (and continues bringing) to the table, she was the best of a bad lot.

Phone logs in impeachment report renew concern about security of Trump communications

President Trump has routinely communicated with his personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, and other individuals speaking on cellphones vulnerable to monitoring by Russian and other foreign intelligence services, current and former U.S. officials said.

Phone records released this week by the House Intelligence Committee revealed extensive communications between Giuliani, unidentified people at the White House and others involved in the campaign to pressure Ukraine, with no indication that those calls were encrypted or otherwise shielded from foreign surveillance.

The revelations raise the possibility that Moscow was able to learn about aspects of Trump’s attempt to get Ukraine to investigate a political rival months before that effort was exposed by a whistleblower report and the impeachment inquiry, officials said.
Trump is not identified by name in the House phone records, but investigators said they suspect he may be a person with a blocked number listed as “-1” in the files. And administration officials said separately that Trump has communicated regularly with Giuliani on unsecured lines.

“It happened all the time,” said one former senior aide, who noted that Giuliani had a range of foreign clients.
Insight into Giuliani’s discussions with Trump could enable Moscow to adapt or amplify its propaganda promoting the baseless claim that Ukraine, rather than Russia, hacked the Democratic National Committee in the 2016 U.S. election. That claim is now widely embraced by Trump’s Republican allies. Russia is already using its disinformation capabilities to target U.S. citizens, officials said, and could enlist its own operatives in Ukraine to feed false information to Giuliani, who traveled to Kyiv this week. He met there with a Ukrainian lawmaker who studied at the KGB’s academy in Moscow in the early 1990s.
Former White House chief of staff John F. Kelly and intelligence officials made a concerted attempt in 2017 to get Trump to use secure White House lines, even after the president had retreated to the residence in the evenings, officials said. But when Trump realized that this enabled Kelly to compile daily logs of his calls, and the identities of those he was speaking to, Trump became annoyed and reverted to using his cellphone, officials said. “He was totally paranoid that everyone knew who he was talking to,” a former senior administration official said.
So he uses unsecured cell phones, and now the everyone in the world, especially Russia, can know who he is talking to.

Devin Nunes could be so deep in Russia scandal with Lev and Igor that he might get booted from his seat. It's not that much of a partisan lean that he can afford to be exposed for how corrupt he is.

I can say America would definitely be in a better play today if Hillary had become president. The only good Trump has done is expose the lunatics

These are military bases. Everyone is already armed! Yet people are still getting shot and killed. How about that.

Weapons on military bases is strictly controlled. Unless you are and MP, or have some valid reason fro carrying a weapon, you usually can't. And all weapons are stored together, to get hold of one, even if it is one you won, you have to sign it in and out.

Contrary to popular belief, a Military Base isn't a well armed fortress.

But hey, let's get our boxers in a bunch over Hillary and that now infamous server, shall we? And where, pray tell, is all the concern by Republicans over Dolt45's unsecured communications which are being monitored by the Ivans and anyone else (most notably foreign governments) with the equipment and the ability to listen in on his conversations? Where's the hue and cry and mouth frothing outrage over that? Well?

House Votes to Restore the Voting Rights Act

The House of Representatives voted Friday to restore key protections for voters across the country after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in 2013.

In the Shelby County v. Holder decision, five conservative justices ruled that states with a long history of discrimination no longer needed to clear changes to their voting laws or procedures with the federal government. The 1965 Voting Rights Act, they found, was out of date in requiring preclearance for a number of states that had a history of discriminating against minority voters at the time. But the court left the door open for Congress to pass a more current version of the law.

After the Shelby decision, states freed from preclearance passed a wave of voter suppression laws, including strict voter ID laws, aggressive voter purges, and cutbacks to early voting in states such as Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. In one striking example, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights found that 1,688 polling places were closed between 2012 and 2018 in states that previously needed federal approval of their election changes under the Voting Rights Act.

I think Ms. Complicit did go to the conference, but I'm not entirely sure. I seem to recall seeing a pic of her and He Went To Jared at a fancy dinner for all the NATO reps.
