Meanwhile with Trump, he did a phone interview with Hannity and... goes on to say he doesn't see the point of getting or having 30 to 40k ventilators when hospitals already have 1 or 2.
Oh my god, we're all dead.

THe thing is Biden hasn't officially been selected as the official democratic nominee YET. So depending on whether this can be investigated, and what may or may not be found if they can, it's theoretically possible they MIGHT decide to go with a different choice. Or Biden might even decide to drop.
If the allegations are true (and I still think that is a sizable if given the smoke coming from the person alleging), it seems that Sanders might’ve been the smartest candidate—staying in until Biden imploded. Sanders might end up being the nominee by process of elimination. While it doesn’t speak to a position of strength, progressives may get to test their electability arguments real soon.

In hindsight Sanders NOT dropping out might actually be a safety net in the event Biden doesn't work out. Not an ideal situation by any stretch of the imagination for the democrats, and hopefully it doesn't come to that... but they might have to play the cards they are dealt.
Obviously, I sincerely hope they aren’t. But I think the way Biden reacts to them is almost as important as whether or not it happened. Lashing out could cost him big moving forward, particular among college-educated women, a demographic who has been a real strength for him. We’ll have to see. Hopefully, Biden makes the right call, asks for an investigation, and it clears him.

There is a little bit of history repeating itself with a former Vice President wrapping up the nomination, and skeptical establishment Democrats looking at a Cuomo who got news attention too late to launch a presidential campaign.
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/28/n...on-speech.html
There are some conspiracy theories about Cuomo being a potential replacement if Biden isn't up for the task, but any conspiracy doesn't pass muster since Cuomo's heightened role is largely the result of luck. The epicenter of America's coronavirus cases could have just as easily been somewhere else, with some other Governor potentially rising to the occasion.
Sincerely,
Thomas Mets
And rejected New York's plea for more ventilators.

On this date in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, as well as 2019, “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day posted profiles of Kelly Keisling, a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives who prior to the 2012 election, made headlines by sending out an e-mail forward from his government account that contained a conspiracy theory that the Obama administration was going to stage a “false flag” assassination attack to institute martial law in major cities and prevent the elections from happening. The theory, insane as it was, originated from a Canadian conspiracy theorist and was then circulated through the hard-right conservative crowd via the Constitution Party of Florida, and their forwards eventually found their way to Keisling’s inbox. After widespread criticism, Keisling defended forwarding the e-mail to his constituents, saying, “I wouldn’t put anything past anybody.”
As a legislator up until this point in his first two terms, had voted to nullify the Affordable Care Act, voted for stricter Voter ID laws to disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters to prevent statistically non-existent in person-voter fraud, had voted to prevent enacting the United Nations’ Agenda 21 environmental treaty, voted for abstinence-only sex education in Tennessee schools, voted for abortion to be outlawed if a fetal heartbeat is detected (i.e. six weeks in, before many women even realize they’re pregnant), voted to bring back the electric chair as a valid method of execution in the Volunteer State, and voted for every pro-gun bill that flew through the Tennessee state legislature prior to the 2016 NRA convention being hosted in Nashville.
Kelly Keisling was re-elected in 2018 with 81% of the vote. Thus far in his current term in office, Keisling has co-sponsored a fetal heart abortion ban in Tennessee that would effectively ban abortion at 6 weeks, or before many women even realize they are pregnant, and voted for a bill to allow adoption agencies to refuse to allow couples to adopt children based on “religious exemptions” like deciding that they’re just going to discriminate against gay people rather than let a child be adopted into a loving family because of some twisted ideology. It bears watching if he will run for re-election in 2020, for what will be his sixth term in office, at the age of 68.
We are crossing our fingers and hoping that isn’t the case.
