Chris Matthews has gone insane. For some damn reason I end up watching his show most nights, and he spends the whole time talking over his guests. I guess Chuck Todd must have been taking notes from him...

If it's the case, that wouldn't be much of a shock.

There was a pretty plausible scenario where that was mostly leadership(on person, in particular, stuck out) leaning towards "Moderate" while they didn't entirely represent realities that membership has worked out.

However, I don't think that's going to be enough to revive her candidacy, although she is probably the favorite to score the VP slot if she wants to take that.
Warren is just in a tough spot.

Any chance of getting some of the "Moderate" vote will be tempered by the reality that she has to compete with at least three other candidates in order to do so. Any chance of getting folks that are actually "Left Of 'Actual..." Center" voters will be tempered by that she has to compete with someone who probably has the Latinos in that larger group all but sewed up.

She's just in an unenviable position.

    Edit:

    One other thing...

While competing for that "Moderate" vote, she has to deal with Mayor Pete selling that same old "We Can Fix Things That Are Clearly Broken Beyond Repair!!..." garbage that it always looks like "Moderate" Democrats seem to love.

Plus, we have Sanders on record since the 1980s' calling for a female president. As my grandmother always said - "If you tell a lie make sure it is a believable one".
Yeah, it seems there were four possibilities on that story.

It could be that Bernie knows that he clearly said that no woman can be President. In that case, he's lying and shouldn't be President.
It could be that Bernie forgot that he clearly said that no woman can be President. In that case, he shouldn't be President because of the implications (it's careless or worse.)
It could be that Bernie didn't say that no woman can be President, and Warren made it up. In that case, she's lying and shouldn't be President.
It could be that Bernie didn't say that no woman can be President but Warren interpreted it that way (the argument that this is her truth.) In that case, she can't appreciate nuance and shouldn't be President.

Primary voters seem to think the latter two interpretations are more likely.

That's good news for Bernie since it could have taken out both of them (if primary voters figured they could pick someone else who isn't potentially disqualified by a he said/ she said situation.)
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

That's not it at all. It's deeper than that. If Boot edge edge had won, I'd be dissapointed, but if he showed that he won he first three states and got a plurality of voters, I'd accept the will of the people.

Except for Bloomberg, so I kinda guess I get it.

We'll know more when the full results are in, although the main question is how well the campaign did, rather than whether it did well.

Probably for the same reason it would upset you if the majority of voters were backing Joe Manchin or whatever Democrat you disagree with the most.
Joe manchin is a **** human being...

Decisive win for Bernie tonight. There really isn't any downside to it for him. Buttigieg is going to finish third, Warren's debate performance didn't save her, and Klobuchar is a complete non-factor. It takes him from being the front runner by an edge, to a significant front-runner. The exit polling is very positive for him as well:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/graph...vada-caucuses/

The turnout numbers for first-timers is a necessary element. Bernie can probably win the nomination without that surge, but he can't win the general unless he turns out all sorts of previously uninvolved people. That's not a controversial stance either, he's said it himself. He got a decent showing among black voters, dominated hispanic voters, and turned out a good percentage of young and first time voters. That is the necessary script to win. The only, even slight, number of concern is that this is the second result in which his support among women isn't as significant as expected. But it's a minor issue at best.

Nothing is decided until Super Tuesday, but he has a decisive lead as of tonight.

He WON all three states in the beginning of this Primary. IOWA is still not called. After some numbers-crunching he's only .8 SDES behind boot edgedge.

He won every popular vote so far, but a good chunk of voters. So I have no clue what you're talking about.

We could have had Warren if she had stopped talking about her changing priorities from Progressive values. When she started listening to Clinton, and Obama people is when she started going down. Those same folks tanked Beto.
Also, as a black man I would love a black or other minority women to be POTUS. But if you don' stand for real values and actual change I don't care what gender you are. You don't get my support.

It's hard to see how she comes back at this point. One SOLID debate, and metaphorical murder of Bloomberg brought her to attention, but tonights win stole it back.

Yep. That was her hold out. If she loses mass or comes in a close first... That's tough.

When Hillary first ran against Obama she stayed in the race longer, because she thought he would be murdered. Please don't say that.

I want to see Trump v Sanders in the general election. The Overton Window will be shattered by a Fascist fighting a Communist for control of a major Western Country. I'm so happy Sanders continues to win, it's a sociologist's wet dream.

PS I don't believe the Russians are helping Sanders or anyone else for that matter. I think it is "Intelligence" BS on par with WMDs in Iraq circa 2002, which is why I've turned it into a running joke, comrades.

That came from Hillary Clinton so naturally, it would be wrong. I mean c'mon it's Hillary.

Well Bernie passed the test with flying colors. Can he win a more diverse state? That’s a big yes. Having the Hispanic vote is huge. Plus he’s making a lot of headway with black voters, especially those under 40. It does give me some glimmer of hope that just possibly the balance of power is swinging toward the younger generations and away from the Baby Boomers. The massive size of that demographic has allowed the over 60 crowd to have a strangle hold on American politics. Maybe people who weren’t raised on John Wayne movies can have a say.

My biggest concern about Bernie was the way he handled a few negative talking points and controversy. Bloomberg and Buttigieg both tried to label him a commie. He could have easily broken down the difference between Democratic Socialism, Socialism, and Communism. The debate was watched by millions of people and it would have been a great sound byte. Instead he just yelled louder. He needs to be ready for the “communist” tag being pinned on him by Trump and co. I’m not confident he can overcome that.

I'm not sure there's any point of breaking down that distinction. The people saying it already know the difference, they're saying it for political points or just trolling.
